Went online tonight to drift, but when I got on I saw 2 rooms tagged "Car soccer" Both were running on the TopGear test track (very fitting for something like car soccer) but I couldn't connect to see what it was.

Please explain

If it was a Free-Run lobby, then here's a likely explanation of what it was:

An everyday Free-Run lobby. (I.e A bunch of Dodge rams/X2010s ramming other racers into the barriers.)
The only rules are; every time you 'score' you must call the person YOU rammed a '"noob", and kick THEM.

Am i wrong?

A White Fiat used as the ball with a Red team and a Blue team. Something marking a goal. The rest should speak for itself.

Maybe someone should make a league/club for this? It is quite fun and lots of people love it. :p

That's cool. Turn a racing game into soccer.

In the nightly 450PP room, after midnight it turns into dirty shuffle. No rules, damage on high. If given a crappy car, you just became the jam car.

It is fun, thank god its not real soccer....flop. yes im from the states

This ^^^

How does a scottsman get football/soccer wrong and an american get it right. LOL

We normally use GTR's from the reccomended as the players. Blue team red team if I remember correctly. With the little white 500 as the ball. It would be fun if there was a league but you need a ref 👍

The ref is the ball. :dopey: From what I've seen...

Some real Top Gear soccer is a must for GT6.

I just noticed Forza has it. That sucks, probably means GT won't do it. That would be awesome with a good group online.

Thank you, a lot of us over here do know what it is.

But alas I am more into Hockey and American Football.

HOLD EVERYTHING!!! Little-known fact: (brace yourselves) :sly:

The Origin of the Word "Soccer"
In the early days of the sport among the upper echelons of British society, the proper term for the sport was “Soccer”. Not only that, but the sport being referred to as “Soccer” preceded the first recorded instance of it being called by the singular word “Football” by about 18 years. This happening when it became more popular with the middle and lower class. When that happened, the term “Football” gradually began dominating over “Soccer”.

So yeah, the british came up with the word "soccer" and they did so before the term "football". 👍 ;)

I'll just leave this here...

Once again, a little-known fact:

Most of the earliest forms of Football (soccer) were named thus, not because you kicked a ball with your foot, but because they were played on foot. Peasants played most of their sports on foot; aristocrats played most of theirs on horseback. Thus, games played on foot were called “football”, whether they had anything to do with kicking a ball or not.

My source is still http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/06/the-origin-of-the-word-soccer/.

So yeah, the British decided that all games played on foot were football games, as opposed to games on horseback. American football is played on foot (not horseback) as well as soccer. Basically, the brits named our sport for us. :sly:

^Yeah, argue this. :D

American football in its early days originated at the end of the 1860's. The only scoring back then was 1 point single kicks. Long before the forward pass or touchdown was introduced. Interestingly enough kicks for 1 point on any play still survive in Canadian football.

What you say. It's pretty fun you should try it. But you don't have to use a white fiat. It just has to be a small white hatch, I played it with a Ford Ka once.

Yeah sure, the ball they play with is totally called an egg

I tried. No one joined up. :(
