Does anybody use the run & settings mode? My friends just run races and make changes in between, bu this seems dumb to me. I've probabally put on more miles testing and tuning than racing. Anybody else?

I basically use those to tune things up before an arcade racing session. I also use these to see what kind of performance I am getting from cars as I had aquired them.

How come the Run & Settings option only gives you a limited set of Tracks?

dont tell me u actually save it after testing.....:)

I usually take a run thru Complex String when I get an interesting new car or I do a major upgrade to a car. Just to get an idea of any suspension/gearing tweaks that are necessary. And yes, I save after doing this. Why wouldn't I?

I usually make a few runs under run and setting at Laguna Seca, then a few on SS11. That will give you a good "all arond tuning" that doesn't require too much adjusting aside from transmission settings. Then, before you race a course, run a couple qualification laps and set up the high side of your tranny so that you just about top out by the end of the longest straightaway. There's nothing I hate more than hitting the rev limiter in sixth, and not having anything left. Espescially in harder factory races where the competition is quite a bit tougher. Set the low side of the transmission so that you get the most acceleration for the powerband of the car, and you should do alright. That's the way I do it, but what the hell do I know anyway, right? Hope it helps someone......lol:D

The only "testing" i do is when i am trying out a new car. I qualify it 2 see if it is competive and if it can handle, has speed and can stop itself. I.e. 1119hp Zonda C12s vs. 5 Zonda race cars.

you can figure out all the capiblites, then just reload it, make the setting changes, then save, and dont worry about increased mileage.

OK, BMW, I get it. I'm not at all worried about the mileage on my cars. More mileage = more playing = less reloading = more fun. If I was that stressed about mileage, I wouldn't play at all! I also like it after the cars are broken in, you can tell at a glance of the HP if it needs an oil change...

I use it for comparing my cars, i also saves a ghost of some of the cars..

(I think its important to have knowledge of your cars when playing multiplayer, nothing worse than an unfair race!!!

"Run & Setings"
Its a good playground...and nessesary for a good tune!

Increased mileage is of zero concern to me. I have 120 cars that I alternate, and most of them have over 100 miles. The cars are broken in and tuned properly. If they lose too much HP, I save the settings and buy or win a new car. This hasnt happend yet though. I have an escudo with almost 2000 miles that still has over 1840hp.
