What is the deal with car tickets? How do they work? Do they just give you a random car when you cash it in? Whay are people so interested in them in the marketplace?

Because they can contain very expensive cars sometimes, and it is the only way to bypass the 1 mil trading limit

How do you know what car it contains? Just a luck of the draw?

Pretty much if you backup your save, open the game and redeem your ticket if you don't like it quit the game and restore your save. Rinse and repeat until you get one you like

Where does the 100- ticket come from?

you get the 1000 ticket for taking to the track 200 times (I think it is on the same circuit) or driving 1000 KM/ Miles on the same circuit

The funny part of the 1k ticket is that you can get it more than once.
