Evo wins it hands down for me :)

I have very little love for impreza's and i can not stand that god awful, 'firing on 3' racket they make :crazy:

Impreza > Evo. Always.

Why? Because the AYC ruins what little balance there was in the Evo. It feels like the AYC is sleeping when you have it in its default setting, and when you crank it up to a significant level, it feels like there's a hand which slaps the Evo's backside out. I guess it's personal preference, I prefer the Impreza's more natural handling.

Default setting? in GT5 it is not the actual tune for the AYC... You have to drive one that actually has the AYC controller in real life i guess to fully understand it... My friend has a EVO9 MR that he paid to have shipped to America from Japan (because EVOs in America do not have AYC) and he also has a 2001 WRX STI... I love both too... But as far as handling on the street or track the EVO wins... It can out accelerate and out corner the STI... but on dirt, like i said before the STI wins... One advantage he always told me was, the main problem with the STIs is they run a higher TQ split... And the AYC affects the EVO in a way you don't have to run it so high

Neither really, I designed a car that takes some good elements of both. Since then I've not really liked the Impreza or Lancer Evolution :sly:.

I guess that little bit of first hand experience with these cars in real life does help you make the decision better, but all we less lucky people have to base our opinion off of is a game, which, regardless how accurate, will only tell us so much about how the car drives. But in GT5, the AYC seems to do more harm than good for me. And as a result, I'm faster in the Impreza, so it really is just down to personal preferences.

I like both but the character of the boxer engine and iconic WR Blue Mica and Gold wheels combo put me in favor of the Impreza!! I also prefer the handling of the Impreza's in the game although their isn't really anything wrong with the way the Evo's go about their business. The best thing about both is the acceleration when the boost kicks in! :dopey:

I like both, but I'll take the Evo for it's modability and that it's more track oriented than the STi. The trick differential on the Evo helps too, though you can't lose with either of those two solid cars.

The Evo 6 is honestly one of my most favorite car in the world and it happens to be #10 EVO magazine's top 100 driver's car. ;)
 
In real life the evos have always been quicker and handle better than the imprezas, however in gt5 the imprezas kick the evos ass, not very realistic!
 
The last EVO & STi I ever liked were the 2004 model year. (Rest In peace)

The most beautiful styling there ever had been, and ever would be. Since, they are both bloated, ugly, grocery getters.

We had the WRX in the usa for about 10 years longer than we did the lancer. So I always liked the wrx more.

I like the Impreza more because I think the boxer engine layout makes it more unique. I'm looking forward to owning an Impreza one day. :)

Fastest between them?: 22B FOR THE WIN SUBARU FOR LIFE, but i do use an evo for rally, im backwards (: :)

I associate the flat engine more with Porsche than anything else but the use of boxer engines by varying manufacturers is fairly well known.
 
In real life I'm biased towards to Scooby because I used to own one. You know, now that I think about it, I'm like that in the game also. :lol:

This has always been my favorite car in the world. Evo 5 in my opinion, was the best Evo ever produced by MMC, on the track and on the street. Its menacing spotlights are enough to scare away the competition. Still gives me the shivers when ever I see one on the road today. So imagine my disappointment when there is no Premium version of this fantastic machine in GT5 :(

I really hope PD is at least considering to release something like an upgrade pack for us rally fans, with tracks like Tahiti Maze, Grand Canyon etc in the nest update, as well as with proper ralli cars, i would pay good money for it.
 
I'd prefer the Subaru because it's more easy going and livable for daily driving, and it's not too extreme on the track. The Evo on the other hand is too hardcore for me, too harsh, and it's not the best looking car out there, really.

I'm in the same boat as you. I love the evo for it's brutal-ness and how track oriented it is, but you have to service it every 7000 miles. Not just change the oil, but actually service it. That is a bit much for me :/
