I'd prefer the Subaru because it's more easy going and livable for daily driving, and it's not too extreme on the track. The Evo on the other hand is too hardcore for me, too harsh, and it's not the best looking car out there, really.

I could not disagree more with your opinion on looks.

Now, 07 Subaru is the BEST looking of any of these, ever. Of course, in STi form. (arguable, but to me.)

Best model of all STi's and Evo's, would be Evo XI. To me, it's the highlight of Evo's performance before technology became over bearing.

Subaru > Lancer
Because the Subaru offers Standard, and only standard for the performance model. Only flappy padels for the Evo.

Performance,
Subaru > Lancer
Driving aids are minimal, awd system, general engineering.
Lancer > Subaru
Driving aids, and there AYC things, and all those computers doing whacky things.

Daily driving
Lancer = Subaru
Subaru is more plain, and more, well, get in and drive.
Lancer is very technological, and great for a lot of things, but unless being pushed hard on the track, can be driven by anyone anytime, and treated roughly.

I'm by far no expert, but from my limited knowledge from GT5, GT4, GT3, Top Gear S01E01-S18E03, Australia, US, and general reviews, corporate websites, and dealerships.

aka, I have never hardcore driven either.

unquestioned
I associate the flat engine more with Porsche than anything else but the use of boxer engines by varying manufacturers is fairly well known.

But Porsche cars are more in their pricing and have different type of way of keeping them going than a Subaru, who is cheaper, more reliable and have a similar reputation as the famous Stuggart manufactuer when it comes to the boxer flat.

Both companies are still showing the auto world that these engines are always at their top of their game against other type of piston engines and will show newer innovations with the design for years.

Enough said :)

Oncoming friday a 35 lap race on suzuka: The sub RM vs evo RM. The practise sessions so far shows they are near equally fast.

Image0467.jpg

The fuel system has had a re think so it will be as follows, out of the tank to the swirl pot -10 to fuel pump, -10 out of fuel pump to fuel filter, -10 from fuel filter to -10 line through the car, billet y piece to split -10 line to 2 -6 lines to the fuel rails and -10 return line to the swirl pot. Also the Injectors were upgraded to Injector Dynamics ID2000s, got them from the states at a bargain price!

This should allow sufficient flow for well over 700bhp and keep things simple but meant I needed another fuel filter with -10 inlet and outlet. All lines and fittings will be supplied by Alex from Torques via ebay
