I'm sure I've seen that specific front end before. I'm just going to say it was a 600, I'll be looking closely from now on though.
Saw an Avenger today, aren't those pretty rare? I've only seen 3-4.
A Dodge Avenger? The coupe version of the Stratus? They're everywhere! And here's a secret: they were the letdown of the 1990s. Actually, nearly every vehicle Chrysler produced in the 1990s could fit that definition - consider:
- the LH cars, released in 1993, meant to 'save Chrysler' and, against their own rules, recommended by ConsumerReports their first year on the market, turned out to be reliably crap; CR was forced to retract the rating the following year
- the wondrous Stratus, Cirrus and Breeze, meant to 'save Chrysler' which came out two years after a redesigned Camry and one year after a redesigned Accord and were nowhere near as good; none of the three models still exist
- The V6 Dodge Avenger, the Ford Probe competitor, whose V6 didn't beat 9.6 seconds to 60mph
- The Jeep Grand Cherokee, one of the least reliable SUVs of the 1990s
- The Jeep Wrangler, the least reliable SUV of the 1990s
- The Chrysler LeBaron, considered ass-kicking in the late-1980s, referred to as 'a survivor from another era' by the mid-90s - yet they continued to sell the damn thing
- The Mitsubishi years, which involved the Dodge Stealth, which wasn't allowed - by popular demand - to pace the Indy 500 because of its Mitsubishi origins, and the other Mitsubishi-based failures: Dodge Colt, Plymouth Colt, Eagle Summit (and Summit Wagon, perhaps the worst Eagle of all), not to mention the cars Chrysler gave to Mitsubishi like the Mighty Max, which was cancelled not by Mitsubishi or Chrysler but by the United States government for not meeting varios safety requirements
- the early-90s Dodge pickups
- Eagle (the 'sport' division, created in 1988 and dropped in 1998)
- Plymouth (the 'budget' division, dropped in 2000)
About the only thing Chrysler got right in that decade was minivans, the Viper, and the Neon - the former and the latter of which have since turned to crap.
