today i was cleaning my f090/s and the hp was down to 677. i preformed a quick car wash and the hp went up 5 points. the car wash is useful after all! :burnout:

Hmmmmm.

Never have I noticed a difference in HP when washing my car. Although, I never really was my cars either. I will pay closer attention next time I do.

I knew that when you wash your real car it's always a little bit faster when it's clean but I didn't know that it happened in GT! I guess so, it is the real driving simulator, right!

I don't know about a horsepower change, but it says right in the GT3 manual that washing a dirty car will help the aerodynamics and therefore add to your top speed slightly.

I have notice a little bit in horse power change but a lot in the performance of the car after a car wash :)

Hello, Kaydron, and welcome to GTPlanet. Enjoy your stay - learn something, teach something!

Nigma, did you actually see your horsepower number rise after washing the car? I don't believe that washing the car affects the HP number. However, 'wearing in', as the car gets a few miles on it, does actually increase the HP for a while.

Welcome to GTP Kaydro :D. Hope you bring some good info with ya :). You can find everything bout :gt:3 and any other :gt: game here :)

I never saw the HP go up because of car wash, but I did see an increase in top speed of about 5 MPH on most cars.

But an oil change does increase HP.

i agree with neon. i dont think washing the car produces an actual increase in HP. it will increase your top speed by 3-5mph, though, because of better aerodynamics. so ya, the car wash does improve performance, but not in actual HP numbers.

I dont think it changes your hp, never changed mine =/

but if it changed yours good for you! hey for the $300 i will get a oil change and a car wash anyday!

The lap numbers that you listed for all the cars pitting... was the lap that YOU were on when they pitted or the lap that those cars were on?

Oops, wrong thread... here, I'll be useful:

F090/S

880.7 miles (well broken in)
Last oil change was just before the R11 Endurance I just ran.
Last car wash was just before the R11 Endurance I just ran.
HP: 702

HP after carwash: 702
HP after oil change: 711

Supports the theory that car wash does not affect HP directly.

 I knew it! thanks for the proof Dolby.

exactly. thats what we've just established. car washes dont change HP, but a clean car can have 3-5 extra MPH on the top end than a dirty car.

your observations were correct, 4mula. car washes dont add actual HP.
