Cars recommended to drive with the cockpit view and HUD off

Hi.

What cars do you prefer to drive using the cockpit view and having the HUD off (all indicators disabled). I mean what cars have got quite legible dashboard (speedometer, odometer and gear indicator)?

I think Aston Martin V12 Vantage is quite pleasant to drive with the HUD off. F40 also but I hardly can see at what speed I race;) I have only 32 inches LCD.
 
The F1 cars are good to drive with the HUD off, they have an easily visible speedo and rev counter on the screen in the middle of the wheel.
The Shelby Cobra has a good interior view with nice clear dials.
The Fiat 500 (the old one) is a fun car to drive with no HUD

Also if you are good at shifting by ear, the FGT, BMW V12 and Caterham are nice drives.

A car to use if you want a challenge is the GT by Citroen Race Car at night with no HUD.
 
The S2000 is a great car for running no HUD 👍 I only keep my map on when tandem drifting :lol:
 
The Mazda 787B is a good choice - or the 2011 Schulze Motorpsorts GT-R. Both give your lap times and have a good display for helping you shift. But there's plenty others (lots of Super GT cars mainly) that are like this.
 
I would recommend the Peugeot 207 GTI. Nice car, though with a small dashboard, but it is possible to see.
 
For functional instruments, beyond simply tachometer and speedometer, try these:

Lamborghini Gallardo.
Infiniti G35
Fiat 500 (the modern one, whatever the year is)
McLaren MP4-12C

For all of those, except from the McLaren, you can also see the mirrors clearly, which certainly helps during racing.

Oh, and the Nissan Leaf has awesome instruments too, but it's not a very useful car :/
 
Lexus LFA. As long as you are familiar with km/h.
 
Ferrari 512BB is my fovorite. Put it on comfort normal tires and no ABS. A blast on The ring. As if you are realy in it.
 
If you have the appropiate DLC, try the Honda Weider HSV-10. Good display on the steering wheel, great car to drive and fantastic sound.

Yeah, I totally agree - except for the rollcage bars or whatever they are blocking the view of the road a bit.
 
Mazda 787B and the GT-R R35 is a good suggestion to me(providing a clear vision on the dashboard and some other interior gauges, though not all the premiums are equipped with instruments legible to the driver and therefore they don't have much use for trying to do that). :D

It's not that bad. The car is pretty unstable but yet pretty predictable. You just got to keep in your head that it's an old mid engined car, so you need to keep a litle throttle on it in the turns to keep traction on the rear wheels, but trust me, once you know the car it's a blast to drive.

Corvettes are really nice, good visibility and totally legible readouts.
Audi R8 is another one off the top of my head.
