Cars Seem To Be Disappearing or Changing to Other Models After 1.06 Update

I have over 1000 cars, been keeping track of the cars I have with mygranturismo.net. I have had half a dozen cars show up in the used lot unticked, cars I know I have already bought. I check and they are no longer in my inventory. I am not the only one this is happening to. But the total number has not seemed to change so I don't know what is happening to them. Anyone else have this issue?
 
Another thread says this may be due to the fact that different colors show up in the UCD for cars now, and if you don't own the car in the color shown in the UCD, it doesn't tick "owned."

It does still tick owned as I had a Holden that was a light (faded) blue and then I saw a red Holden (was pretty mad as I wanted a red one) which was ticked. They were the exact same model.
 
yes, I had an RX-7 LM ( green) already in my gargage, then a Silver one with black stripes showed up in the UCD with the blue tick beside it.
 
I had all the cars in the game, did the update and a Mazda Miata was unchecked on the UCD, I was shocked since I put a HUGE effort to get all the cars a month ago.

Checked my garage, the Mazda was not there, bought it "again".

It does happen.
 
There are some strikingly similar named cars... are you sure you're not confusing very similiar models such as:

MX-5 Miata S-Special I (NA, J) '95
MX-5 S-Special I (NA, J) '95

I second this.

I got about 800 cars and haven't seen any issues with cars not being ticked that I already own.

I use myganturismo as well to keep track.

You are almost making me doubt, but I was pretty sure I had them all, I printed the official list, and crossed all the cars as I bought them... :scared:

I have others with the same issue coming forth on Gran-Turismo's forum and another forum. They are changing into other models. You know you have a model, go back and you no longer have it, you have 2 of another instead. Its not just me. I use mygranturismo.net religiously. One person lost a trophy car. One of the other guys that has it has duplicated his inventory to a second account and that is how he verified it. I don't know if this is since 1.06 or not since some say it has happened before this patch. Its real, check your inventory. I found like 10 cars in my 1000 car inventory that were dups. I though nothing of it, thought it was weird I had so many dups, deleted them. Then I go back to trade a car I KNOW I have and its not there.

Go through your cars by make and sort by model. See if you find any duplicates like I did. Then go to mygranturismo.net and see what car you are missing from that make.
 
I havent had any cars disapear but all my drivers overalls have changed colour. They were originaly green and black and now the black has turned to light blue. Also my white Ferrari SP1 has devoloped two red stripes on the rear end of the car???

Slighty annoying but hey as I said, I dodnt loose any cars. (Which is more important) :scared:
 
Found someone online who says he has the issue and what is happening is the thumbnail is changing, to hit the triangle on duplicate cars to make a new thumbnail to get it back to the right model. I tried this on my dups, it did nothing. Soooo, probably not the answer. Don't delete your dup cars, they may come out with a fix.

You have to regenerate the thumbnail AND restart the game when this happens to try and correct the problem. I've had this happen before the 1.06 update once, and it fixed itself after a restart.

The red stripes have always been there. They certainly have on my black SP1 anyway (which I bought a couple of weeks before the 1.06 update)

I like to prepare my car for the next race, then log off. Two times (different cars) I had done a lot of tuning, including buying Racing Soft tires. Logged off normally (Out of GT Life to Main Menu, then PS button to turn off the PS3).

When I went into Seasonal Events next log on, both times there was no option for Racing Soft tires in the prep menu. Went in both times to find that all my extras were no longer on the car, and had simply ceased to exist. I have no idea if my Credits were returned.

Anyone else have this problem?
 
Some cars have left from my garage like a bunch of miatas, and skylines and a mazda furai. I have over 1000 cars and I have noticed that some cars have disappeared. I keep track of all my cars on mygranturismo.net
 
I'll have to check when I get time.
I now own all the cars except 4 (which are coming in trades in the next couple days).
I also tracked all of them on mygt.net
Luckily, I have made a backup of my save file every single day since the game came out and have every one of them stored on my PC.
So if I am missing one, I'll just load up and old save that has it, gift it to a fake account, restore my current save, and gift it back to my main account.
I'll just be pissed if it's a whole bunch of cars, since we can only trade once per day.
I'll report back tomorrow when I have had time to go through all the cars.

Heap I had an identical problem! Bought racing tires multiple times for my eve only to have them vanish the next time I loaded gt5

Are you sure you didn't accidentally choose to not install them right away? In that case, they would show up in the "items menu" to the left of the garage button in the main GT Life menu. It took me a while to find those lost parts :ouch:

the same thing happened to me. i dont know about my bspec drivers but mine was green and black and now is green and blue. but the thing is that is only while you are playing. when i go to my profile in gt life it appears green and black but during gameplay and replays is green and blue. :confused:

Its simply the fact that the tick system is 100% informatized while MyGranTurismo relies on a human to enter the data. Said human can make mistakes for cars like the miatas, the skylines and others with many different cars with very similar names.

The tick system cannot make mistakes like these.

I agree. At first I thought I had made mistakes, then I started thinking maybe they were right; but then I found proof of my own error. I had ticked off the wrong car in my list so when I found that car unticked in the UCD I bought it and went to my garage. I had ticked the wrong car because the next one on a very short list (30 or so I was missing) was unticked on my list but was present in my garage. So mistakes can be made between cars with different names too. Until I find an important car that I know I had, I've probably made lots of mistakes.
