Cars to not purchase

Odd, there's no convertible V6 Mustang with an auto tranny...

Weak. Too bad these people - as well as everybody on cars.com - know nothing about cars. Some are dead-wrong, too - anybody nominating the Outback for 'lesbian car' has never been to the Rocky Mountains, and anybody nominating the Mustang for 'guy car' has never taken a look at Mustang buyers. I'd say it's slightly more than half female, especially excluding top-range models.

"Neons are Barbie cars: little and cute and rounded in the hips. Even in black, they are feminine and adorable, only just a bit tougher, like Tattoo Barbie."

Please tell me they are joking.

"Anything by Volkswagen is a chick car. VW realized this years ago and joined forces with another company to sell guy cars--they called that company Porsche."

I'm sure all the boy racers driving GTi's and middle aged women driving boxsters agree.

"I discovered this phenomenon when I got a Miata. "Girlie car." That's all I heard."

And that other link was the most stupid **** i've read this year.

Where's the Ford StreetKa? Where's the Smart car? These people have no idea.

The Jetta (Bora in Europe) as #1 gay car? Be realistic! The new Beetle should definitely be there. And chickly cars with no oversize 4x4s?

That survey is rubbish. I could have knocked up a better one in 15 minutes.

On of the replies o guy/girl cars...

IT MIGHT BE A GUY CAR IF . . .

--Its engine size is still given in cubic inches, especially if that number is over 400
--There was a movie or TV show built entirely around it. Examples include Burt Reynolds' Trans Am, the General ----Lee; the Knight Rider car; and the Dodge Viper. The A-Team van probably counts too.
--The hood is more than five feet long.
--It is a Ford Mustang.

So True

Note how all of the "guy" cars are American?

Nice try on the patriot wagon Car-Talk, but I don't buy it.

"I discovered this phenomenon when I got a Miata. "Girlie car." That's all I heard."
Yeah I also heard that from a guy in a Z06. . . I made him feel like a girl quickly after that. :D

Amazingly, I have to say the lists were concieved by a man.
Working with almost entirely women, I have heard the girls refer to Vipers, Vettes, and Camaros as "penis substitutes". IE "Small penis, must buy large, fast, "manly" car.
For the most part, women are more impressed with a guy that is secure enough in his manhood, that he doesn't have to drive some "super-car". For instance: "The Highlander" no-one can say that McLeod's girl Tessa (or for that matter Amanda) wasn't smokin' hot. For most shows he drove a Citroen sedan.
In the Canada shows He drove an old Thunderbird convertible. Not hot rods, but big comfortable cars, that couldn't be classified as "gayboy" cars or "old guy" cars.
I actually like Miatas, but you'd never catch me in one. I want a car that I can ride in, not one that I'd "wear".

Darin, you went over the line with that one. Boss 302, Mach 1, Cobra, GT500. I wouldn't consider those 'redneck' cars.

Except Darin couldn't see the difference between a Focus and a Boss 429, so it's a moot point.

Whoever wrote that list is a biased dumb**** who clearly knows nothing about cars, and the people who drive them. I'd do a better job at automotive journalism than he/she'd do.

Well they are somewhat right with picking Subaru, since if I remember correctly, Subaru is still the only auto manufacturer to advertise in Gay and Lesbian magazines, thus making them popular buys for that group.

Maybe he reads lesbian magazines. I've "read" lesbian magazines myself, but I don't recall seeing any subaru adds in the one I was "reading." ;)

Ah the Del-slow, been in a few interesting rides in a few supercharged ones :D

The Miata! What a crock! This car is the most fun thing to drive while staying near the speed limit - those of us who live with the abundance of speed cameras of Australia know there's no point driving a 400hp monster with enormous tyres, it's just an exercise in frustration.

In Australia, the two door RAV4 is a popular one amongst those of 'alternative' lifestyles.

Two disposable incomes with no kids - an auto manufacturer would be remiss not to go after that market...

...and, yeah, I drive a Subaru. Belongs to the other half, though.
