If that was in GT4 PD would cry!!......It would be the most annoying thing to model environmental reflections on!

Pimp Racer, you're the one that brought it up! Anyhow, can you imagine if that car was silver instead of black? Or even worse, what if it was pure white? That car would basically the sun when on a clear, sunny day (in the westen U.S., since Texas can't get any breaks with the weather)!

I don't get how Event Horizon can think cars were shinier in Forza pics, most I've seen had no reflection whatsoever.

Most of the shots of forza I have seem look like 2 different games, 1 with crap colours and poor reflections, and one with lush reflections and rich colours. I'm sure that by the time it's finished it will look nice enough.

I want shiny nice cars :)

I think the way they designed the look of the cars is one of the many ways GT4 is set apart from all the other games (at least visually).

Marcus Gronholm doesn't give a damn if his Peugeot is shiny or not when he crosses the stage finish line, why should we.
What's good for Gronholm, Loeb or Sainz is good enough for us.

 I yup I sure did but I got that picture from someone else I think it was either Daan or Darin not sure.
And yeah I would be blind If it was pure white.

Correction, "What's good for Gronholm, Loeb or Sainz is good enough for (EDIT)YOU." :sly:

There's a reason they wash the cars in service as often as they do in WRC, and it's not because they enjoy doing so. Sponsors tend to want their stickers to be visible, so whilst Marcus may not care, Peugeot sport does - you don't see dirty cars on the podium at the end of a rally.

Here's my girlfriend's car, just outside our house. No special lights on it or anything, this is just how it looks:

but black is the most reflective color....because, it actually isnt a color, so it shines off other colors.

nevermind.

Nevermind indeed, I mean just look at all the cars in the picture I just posted, not just the black one. They're all pretty shiny, and these are just cars in the street.

Yaaaaay!.........Vauxhall Corsa Fan Club!!!!! :D :D :D :D

All but the first two are some of the guys (and gal) from my local car club. They are cars they drive all the time. Nothing special done, except they are taken care of properly. 👍

yeah, they reflect, but they don't reflect back like a mirrior.....the image you see will be tinted red, or blue.......etc etc......with black the image comes back in full colour without any tinge......because black hasn't got any colour of its own it will give off any of the intire colour spectrum correctly.....

PD are gonna have a had time mapping reflections well onto black cars in GT4!

I thought this was thread was about cars being "shiny", not just reflective like as mirror. :)

It is a thread about cars being shiny but we were talking about how black cars are the most shiny because they are the most reflective. Actually we have been going slighty off the topic in this thread reciently but theres no harm in that.

Oh, I didn't read all that off-topic stuff closely enough. That's my fault. I was just trying to give more examples of real cars that are shiny, just like they are in the game...as I feel they should be. 👍

I like the shiny-ness of the cars in GT 👍 , and if this is just so PD can show off their artistic skill then so be it! Get that shammy out PD and put some elbow grease into it ;)
