The nose aside it doesn't look quite the tight and smooth sucked in package of some of the other cars, I doubt it's going to be particularely fast any more so than the last few cars they have produced.

I see they still insist on using a colour that does them no favours. And it is doubly disappointing given all the fanfare about new colours - there is no white or lime green to speak if

Wow that is seriously hideous.... its like someone glued a vacuum cleaner, handle end outwards, on the front then spray painted it.

Plus that wing is going to snap off in a light breeze

It's happening. Now I've had a chance to have a good look at more pics of the CT05, especially in action, I'm starting to like it. Has the flavour of some of the more radical designs of the 70s and early 80s. I also like the fact that they've tried something different, almost as if the narrow nose and wing are deliberate (following the line from the nose up to the top ridge) and the main structure is the afterthought. Most of the other designs, except Ferrari and Mercedes, look as if it's the other way around. Also attaching the wing to the nose makes it look less like a knob.

That's good, but I feel if you had watched F1 as long as some of us you might fine this ugly. From what I've learned many newer fans or people that have seen f1 cars once in a while usually think they're cool even when ugly. That's why I had to ask, either way I think we'll all enjoy the racing

Minimal affect, which could be good or bad. It means less bodywork at the front of the car (less drag) but I happen to bet that the clean (unconditioned) supply of airflow will not be utilised as effectively rearwards of the nose... Time will tell on that one, but there is a reason the other teams did not revert to the simplest interpretation of the rules...

To me it looks like it might see more stagnation than a more typical nose because of the sloped underside. Pushing most of the nose back might mean less interference with the front wing though.

I like the exhaust wing, blown for more downforce while accelerating out of corner, but not so big that lifting off will cause the rear to step out.

What's wrong with the Merc? I'd say it looks as good if not better than the RBR. Both are the best looking on the grid I'd say

RBR's looks stop at the grid though, Merc can make it off.

I'll be quite relieved if they do make better use of the white and light green on the existing base. Will see in a few hours I guess.

Or you can see it right now. It looks like they just have a new front wing for the time being, and the Instagram image appears to show something else (what, I don't know), so maybe more is coming, or something is not visible in this shot:

It's a close-up of the front wing. Look where the Intel logo is on the right, the first element is now green (as is the straight joining section) but the top element (Airbus logo on it) will remain white.

None the less I do hope that the changes on the wing will lead to some livery changes for the rest of the car come the start of the season. It's a pity they painted the car plain green when they have had one of the best liveries of recent times since the team lotus days.
