I just tried the Caterham on Spa, and you are right, this is definitely the most fun I've had recently on GT5!

Just tried out the Caterham at Spa and was extremely impressed! I really did not like it very much before Spec 2, but now its loads of fun. Thanks for pointing it out OP. 👍

Heres a vid in cockpit view that I snapped earlier

I was in a track day on Spa yesterday(I usually don't do track days since it doesn't count towards your mileage..) but I decided to try it out and a lot of people were in Caterhams, so I guess it is a good combination!

somebody should host a caterham only room and lets drive them. Since I'm in the US.:indiff:

Fantastic video and nice driving.. you damned multi-monitor user. :grumpy:

Ok, I have made a lobby for the Caterham 7 with sport middle tires and without tuning.

:( I Wanna race but i cant :(

Thats one awesome video it really is awesome!

whats wrong with a multiscreen user? I Think its pretty sweet!

I'll give it a try when I get the track.

I really want to take the Shelby Cobra 427 premium around Spa. Love that cockpit.

I cant beat 3 screens but anyway.....

Stock Caterham Fireblade with Sports Soft.

I had a blast with a tuned one and Racing Softs.

To each their own, but try it with Racing Hards or Sports Softs, its much more enjoyable, Racing Softs grip way to much and take away from half the fun of a car like the Caterham.

Tried this and totally agree with OP , what a combo !! :)

ps try the GXR i reckon that just pips the Caterham .

I'll have to try this when I get around to driving some next. So far, I've only been driving the N24 in 100% rain. Wonder how the Fireblade would go in 100% rain.

Sideways !!! I have a Caterham IRL and this is one of the things i would most like to do with it, time for some practice in game and money saving over the winter i think :)

I tried my RM'd Elise 111R at Spa, that was fun too. Excellent track for dialing a car for fast corners.

The best way to enjoy it is actually with sport hards or less... ;)

....Tried the stock Caterham for the first time and after 4 laps I can only just get 2:54.

...Just seen you where using sports soft..will try those.

Anyone knows the easiest way i could get a Caterham? I haven't drove the standards till Spec 2.0 cause of the lack of cockpit view, i thought the dealerships update daily but i was wrong! I know about that method of stoping/starting 5 races, but is there some less tedious way?

Win the Formula GT series. Simples.

Spa on the F40 was fantastic fun. Although on Comfort Softs, I had a miserable time of 2:54. 2:38 on Racing Softs. Although that's still terrible, those were the first few runs.

Watching the video above there is some nice driving but in certain corners the driver is losing a lot of time (T1, arguably the most important on the track, and T10), but the drivers line through the bus stop chicane (which PD should make an invalid lap) is near perfect, though dirty dirty dirty, until PD makes it a red zone i guess it is the fastest way. There are certaintly quite a few more seconds to be gained from the car in the video though.

Those having issues stuck at 2:54, are you using the same settings/tyres as the guy in the video?

I need to give this a try, Its been a while since I got in the caterham, been too busy driving the Super GT cars and the Mustang, Radical and MX-5 on iRacing (at Spa also!)

Cheers to the OP. I'll definetly try it out tonight. The fireblade is one of my fav cars. The thing is a joy to drive with a bit of weight ballast.

I'm gonna try this now, been trying to get through Eau Rouge in the Yellowbird without crashing, so lets see if the Caterham is as fun as the Yellowbird around Spa :)
