My teammate on my hockey team played the cello. He's gone now, of course...
What? Did he die?
What? Did he die?
a bit impolite, try not to make it seem like that.
I used to play cello, when I was a primary school lad... didn't get too far with it either, but did play in a couple of school concerts, which were scary! I remember that T you needed to put behind the front legs of your chair to hold the spike of the cello in place... I lost mine during a rehearsal once and attempted to use a Polo mint instead - it didn't work...
We used to have shiny wooden floors in our hall, so we had to use a large wooden T-shaped thing with holes in it to hold the cello in place. You'd place the T-shaped thing (don't know what it's called - we called it 'the T') behind the front legs of your chair, with the long arm of the T pointing out away from you. You could then place the spike of the cello into any one of the drilled holes that gave you a comfortable playing position... I guess they are for beginners only...
