Just curious to see if their are other Cellists on GTP, or if i'm the only one. Are there any other Cellists out there? :)

I'm friends with a pro Cellist, if that counts.

Were you any good? :)

Err... thats debatable, I am tempted to say I was rubbish, but I did manage to string a few songs together. I really want to get my hands on a double bass. :D

I used to play cello, when I was a primary school lad... didn't get too far with it either, but did play in a couple of school concerts, which were scary! I remember that T you needed to put behind the front legs of your chair to hold the spike of the cello in place... I lost mine during a rehearsal once and attempted to use a Polo mint instead - it didn't work...

Put what? Lost what? :)

We used to have shiny wooden floors in our hall, so we had to use a large wooden T-shaped thing with holes in it to hold the cello in place. You'd place the T-shaped thing (don't know what it's called - we called it 'the T') behind the front legs of your chair, with the long arm of the T pointing out away from you. You could then place the spike of the cello into any one of the drilled holes that gave you a comfortable playing position... I guess they are for beginners only...

I get it now! It didn't know it existed!

Haha, my friend has an extendable metal one of those. Bit like this, only the wooden bit is adjustable and only has one hole.

Yeah, I don't stick it down my back and pretend I'm an alien... Anyway... She's grade... 4, I think, seeing that I think she said she's doing grade 5 theory soon.
