I got bored and made a little video too with an RX-7 on Laguna Seca, I know I wasn't part of the challenge but my drifting skills are so bad they're non-existant, I'm a grip driver :)

one more question for you all, do you guys all hate me? cause i don't mean for you to get all against me, I just want to have fun and I think a challenge is fun enough correct and LanEvo I know I am gonna win this!:p just be patient with me I have no captureing device installed on my Machine but my friends do so just give me alittle extra time I promise ill post a video:D

lol the song was the same length so i threw it on there. that was my 3rd lap ever with that car trying to drift laguna. keep in mind it only has 334hp :O if you think you can do better..lets see it!
 
everybody comments on the music and not the drifts?? lol i think my control was pretty good considering i use a PS1 non dual shock controller :p
 
oops, sorry Lanevo, yea your drifts were very smooth. im quite impressed that you did that with only 370 and change hp.:D

If it was on norms, maybe... just maybe that would be something to be impressed about. Is 334hp on sims supposed to be hard?

Really? Mine was on normals, I couldn't handle Sim tires :banghead:. I think it's harder on Sims than any other tire. My RX-7 was 354bhp.
 
Sims is way easier, it does the work for you. But I'm not about to start this arguement so let's froget I said that.:D
 
334hp on an RX-7 with sims is harder than an S13 with 334hp. and lemme guess, you don't use sims(i imagine you hate them because you always spin out when you try to use them.)

im note used to drifting with lower hp cars, the lowest hp i have on a drift car is about 430
 
You need DivX 5.0.5 the latest version with an MP3 codec. It's free and about 2mb, or if you get the Kazaa Lite Codec pack you get the Professional version for free :trouble:.

My drifting (if you can call it that) isn't as good as yours, so some tips please :).
 
I don't hate sims, I just think they're too easy and I don't see why they're seen as the "real drifter's" tire. When I first started drifting in GT3 I used normal tires. Out of curiosity I switched to sim tires for a long time. I got really good on them then switched back to norm, which I use now. Sims is just too easy because all you gotta do is throttle control really. You barely have to touch the controller to drift with them. I prefer norms because it actually requires some work. You need to actually USE the techniques break traction, then it's another challenge to keep that loss of traction.

I think sims is better for n00bs who need to get use to car control, but other than that they are useless IMO.
 
Its all a preferance thing tho, whatever you like you use. i use both, i feel that some cars work better with sim and then vise versa with normal.

funny you should say that when you yourself are considered a newbie to the sim tire drifters here. i guess you also don't know why they call them sim tires because you've never even been close to drifting in real life :lol:
 
I've been drifting in GT3 for about 3 years now. The sims are more realistic but still have their faults. I don't like the feel of the sims in the game. I only like sims in very low hp cars, like stock S13's and such, but I rarely drift anything other than my 180sx.
 
Oh, I built another 180 a couple days ago to use with sims. Same exact setup except for like 220hp. It's the best sim drifter I've built.
