I'm looking at getting a PSP from Best Buy or Future Shop but I'm worried that I'll get the TA-082 mobo and will have to return it. But the thing is will they exchange or refund it within 1 or 2 days if I don't want it anymore(obviously because I don't want a TA-082, I want to downgrade and run homebrew damnit!:grumpy:)?

I'm looking towards getting a Core Pack with the 2.50/2.60 firmware which can be downgraded only if they're non- ta-082 mobo's, have any GTP members bought a PSP at Future Shop or Best buy recently and gotten a non-ta-082 mobo?

Sorry if this is against the forum rules, but I don't see why it would be, not talking about anything illegal right?:)

Thanks!

Hi MX2 They are making great leaps to unlocking the TA-82 systems, so im sure pretty soon it wont matter.

PSP Hacks
0okm has made it apparent that there is indeed hope for TA-082 motherboard owners! As simply stated on his blog:

PSP Multi Firmware module will support TA-082 on NEXT Ver.
so if your TA-082 PSP is FW2.50 or FW2.60
don’t update!!!

What does this mean? Well, by the looks of it, TA-082 owners who are currently left unable to downgrade could very well be on their way to 1.50 freedom! Nothing is available to the public as of yet - rest assure, it’s being worked on and we may see something sooner than later. In the meantime - as 0okm said - don’t upgrade your PSP! Good lookin’ out WiLLiAM.

You can read 0okm’s blog entry here.

I bought one yesterday and it is a 2.6 with TA-082 but I have 2 white pixels and there so annoying! I'm going to exchange today, I spent all night trying to figure out how to put my own videos on it and convert my DVD but it wouldn't work! The video wouldn't play on the PSP, help!!

Great news for TA-082 owners!

UPDATE: I had a talk with 0okm. And yes, this does mean an ISO loader for 2.6, and for the unlucky TA-082 people who can't downgrade. He hasn't revealed the rest of the source code for mounting the ISO, but rest assured that he has it somewhere

From PSP Updates! This is awesome news as long as it won't involve using a hardware solution. :)
