Should the Gold times for the Vettel Challenges be increased?

This is mainly for the DS3 users, but the fact is, this challenge is extremely hard and frustrating for most ds3 users. Reality is, people finish everything with gold in the game except this. So how are they meant to get their platinum trophy? Yes, people can do it, but the fact is most cant. I know for sure i would get it eventually (im not fully grinding it until i've finished everything else). But speaking on behalf of not just DS3 users, but legit people like me; we just spent months grinding the exp for lvl 40, the experiencde gets upped. Then the SS7 glitch comes out and doesnt get fixed. So i think we deserve a break. IMO i suggest the silver time should be gold, at least its decently reachable, whereas gold for a DS3 user is just frustrating (monza will be easier).

And you Wheel users, don't post here complaining that it's easy or tell us to get a wheel, some of us aren't goping to spend hundreds of dollars just to do a couple of races ;).
 
Well I use DS3 and I disagree.. The Vettel Challenge is the only serious challenge in this game so why make it easier? I'm actually more motivated to gold that damn thing with my DS3 just so I can say I did it...

Your poll is pretty bogus too. There should be a, "No, it's fine the way it is." option.

Don't nerf the challenging aspects of the game any more than they already are. If you can't do it, keep practicing...because it is possible. And if you still can't do it...no one is forcing you to.
 
- there were enough nerfs already.
- its doable with a DS3
- there are lots of wheels available for less than the cost of a DS3
 
It'd be good if they'd make the silver time gold. Then again, it'd be better for DS3 users and way too easy for wheel users then - I have the DS3 users in mind.

/\ +1! Using a wheel, won´t ask anyone here for buying it to achieve gold, but that challenge is just the only REAL challenge in GT5. Missing an answer like "No, don´t change it, even if it´s hard to achieve". Thus I selected "easy enough" ;)

edit: to the OP, alternatively get yourself the HKS ps3 controller, heard good things about that...

The thread was mainly aimed at people who don't want to spend extra money on any type of wheel/controller's. Guess that wasn't obvious enough.

I'm impress, that must mean I am a really bad driver. I gold the challenges with a DS3 and it took me about 80hrs. I will never even attempt to do them again. Unlike IC-10 which I enjoyed playing again or the AMG Challenges where I was trying to lower my gold times. When I got bored of the Game, I went back to do the licenses and was impress how easy they were...

I guess people either are too talented, invested more money than me by buying a wheel, or are plain and simple lying.
 
Imagine this... You get the Gold, after it has been made easier. But someone STILL can't get it, so THEY complain, and it is made even easier... but there's someone YET who can't make it.

And so on, and so forth. Eventually, EVERYONE gets the Gold, including your two year old niece. Now, what's that Gold worth? Yep....

Not a damn thing.

So earn it... if i did it with DS3 then you can do it too
It just takes a bit of practice, and a coulpe of nerves...
 
I've got a DFGT and I couldn't even get close to the bronze times before they changed them. Even after, I still felt it was quite a challenge. Getting gold, or even silver, does not even seem possible to me.

Does that make it to hard? No, it just means I suck :P Which I'm well aware of. Should they make it easier so I can get gold? Of course not, if they make all challenges doable for me, anyone with any skill at racing will not have any challenge at all....

i think it's good the bronze times were changed. The fact that I achieved bronze is probably a good indication that anyone can. Silver and Gold are for those who are better :)

Did and gave up, low sensitivity is useless.

I'm actually suprised at how many people have now gotten gold since the sensitivity patch, obviously it would make a great difference.

Actually looking forward to retrying it now with so many people saying it's now quite possible.
 
You shouldn't get gold unless you can drive the car. If you can gold it by making tons of mistakes during the laps, then what reward should those who can actually produce clean laptimes get?

Also, I don't really think the controller has got that much to do with how difficult it is. Even if you would buy a wheel it would take ages before you got used to driving the X2010 with it, I think you would save not only money but also time if you just stick to the DS3 and keep practising.

But if they made the gold easier, and I got it, I would know I didn't deserve it. I did the birthday exploit, and I've duped many cars. I got to level 40 A-Spec with two rubber bands and a stack of coins on my auto-fire controller. I haven't done the SSR7 glitch, and I never will, but it's hard even for me to say if that's because I think it's going too far, or simply because I don't need the money or XP it generates. I did all of that for one reason: cars. But when I drive, I drive clean. I may cheat the GAME in these ways, but I never cheat the DRIVING.

Since there is no 'real' reward for golding the Vettel challenge, or for getting the platinum trophy, I say (my opinion only) they should be left alone. Even though that means I will never get them, I am happy knowing that some aspects of this game are made only for the REAL Gran Turismo Drivers to be able to complete. What's left for them if everyone can get the platinum trophy?
Getting one of the 20,000,000cr. race cars used to be something special. That's ruined with the birthday exploit. Getting the X1 used to be a badge of achievement. That's ruined with duping. Getting level 40 A-Spec would have been something to brag about, but the rubber-band wall-grind came in so early that very very few people can claim to have gotten there before knowing about it, and the SSR7 glitch has now made it into nothing at all to brag about. Golding this challenge is the only thing left to distinguish the casual player, and the die-hard-but-not-very-skilled player (like me), from the REAL drivers.

Please PD, don't nerf this challenge. Although it would benefit me, and many others like me, it would ruin the game.

Absolutely. I can't even gold everything else! Only about half the challenges/licenses. But I don't want any nerfing. Otherwise they don't mean anything at all.
 
I know I will be proud of myself when Gt5 gives me my Carbon X2010, just like when I got my X2010 for silvering it.

DFGT btw. , and still it's a real challenge.
 
I voted for the option to increase the gold times a lot because currently I'm not able to gold them and I would like to gold at least A-Spec (only 24 h Nürburgring left), the Specials Events and the Licenses (currently 53 gold and 7 silver). Until now, I have been able only to bronze the Sebastian Vettel Challenge, thanks to the increased bronze time after the update (I use DS3 but I also have DFGT; However, golding this challenge with DFGT is also impossible for me) !

But I can understand that the "die-hard hardcore expert" players want to keep it as it is now, so that this challenge remains a "real" hard challenge ...

P.S.: Credits, XP and the prizes of golding this challenge do not really attract me anymore because I already bought all the cars I want, I am already level 40 A-Spec and I have all three X2010 (Vettel one by "bronzing" the challenge, "normal" one by buying from the car dealership and prototype one by kindly gifted from a friend).
 
Gold is gold for a reason and it should be uber-challenging, and I'm not even saying it because I golded it and want the standard to remain as it is - I actually realize that gold is out of my reach, but that's fine with me.

I wouldn't mind if they made silver a little easier, though, but not like what they did with the bronze times - that was just overkill.

You have to keep it set to 7, makes the car MUCH more responsive. I used the following settings:
SRF= On
Sensitivity= 7
Everything else off, including ABS

First of all, by "It's easy enough" i meant it's fine enough, mistake on my part.

Second of all, read the post i was referring to about sensitivity, it was referring to before the patch.

Keep the times the way they are. As stated above, it's been proven that it's possible to obtain gold on this challenge with even a DS3, so anyone can do it if they practice long enough. And I'm not voting "No" because it ain't easy.

For your 3rd point, read the posts just above.

1st point, they already screwed all lvl 40 drivers up with the recent patch, it's a way of gaming. Not really the best as it's best to get things right the first time, but still sometimes neccessary. After seeing the feedback here however i'm actually looking forward to retesting with 7 sensitivity.

I could finally keep the car on the tarmac after the update, but still, my hands are too big, and responding not fast enough to the signals from my brain to get anywhere near silver..

So I bought an DFGT. I want Gold!
