Changing in game avatar

How the heck do you do it? I want to get rid of the driver silhouette, but I don’t see a way to do it.

Go to "My profile" by pressing the option key and then select the top left icon that looks like a gear. From there you can click on the avatar and change it to something else.

Did that, saw "Profile Settings" pop up window with my name and blank avatar above it but when clicked to edit avatar hoping will see option to add avatar still not seeing option to do so. Would like to add a pic to mine also.
I know I have a GT Sport avatar somewhere as my Playstation Store purchases indicate at least one was already purchased (one of the Free add ons. A Gran Turismo®Sport Avatar ( Alpine )). Confused.

Clicking on the empty avatar should bring you to the "My Library" screen. From there you can select one of your scapes photos or race photos. You have to create one of those in advance of course.

I was wondering if it's possible to put an avatar in the scapes folder so the PlayStation sees it
