Yes I think some sort of chatroom type thing would be a great idea. or somesort of link to one, so they guy's who want to chat, can do so.

PS on another site, they have a link to a chatroom for their members, at some place called IRCQ-Net.
Maybe someone here could look into that type of option for members here too ?

I've considered adding a chat room (there wouldn't be a need to link to another chat service, we could host it right here), but I don't want to cut down on the forum activity.

Good point about the activity, I think that members are chatting with other programs like Aim, MSN, ICQ etc. But we could maybe try it sometime.

This is interesting and I've seen it come up a few times. You could host an IRC server right on the web server. It could log all channel activity and post it to a webpage. That way you'd still be getting all the chatting on the web where people could search through it. It seems like a lot of trouble to me though. It would be nice to have an IRC channel for discussions and stuff though. "real time chat"

a chat day... that might be your top members logged on at once right there. It wouls shatter the record. Everyone would wanna get in on it I think.
