  One of the best experiences I had in GT3 was the satisfaction I got from going from a Sprinter Trueno, to a Mazda RX-7 Infini III, to a Dodge Viper GTS, then a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II and finally a 1.2 million dollar Vertigo race car. Cheating just kills the experience.
BTW, I still haven't beaten the game.

all the people that dont want to cheat, dont cheat. if you do want to, do it. as long as you have fun. personally, and i think the majority, like to beat the game without gameshark codes, as it is more difficult and that is what makes games fun for us. oh well if some people like to have no challenge. yeah, maybe they should think, would this be funner without cheating, but they shouldnt be made fun of. just play the game however you want, but try to make sure you are having as much fun as possible, because that is what video games are all about.

The RS-X will go pretty good once you load it up... no Turbo...that sucks 8(

Its actually very easy. There aren't any hard courses so with an accord euro-r(which is what i bought for 26k not knowing how much it sucked) all you need is skill. Also, what can you do with the game shark in gt3.

Another LEGITIMATE use for the 'shark is to get the hidden cars that can't be won or bought. I don't have a shark but I want a sharkport for downloading my best runs to the forum and for verification of times of "official" OLR.
I am at 96% completion of GT3 and have done it with tips from guys and gals (I wouldn't forget you Lotus) here. I have also become a much better driver. I used to be fast, now I'm smooth, which is faster.

my friend cheated on GT3 on Day 1 by getting the 10 billion dollar code,or somethin' like that,then he bought all these race cars for like,$1!it was crazy,but ya know..at least I can say this,"If it wasn't for my regular AE86..then I wouldn't have ANY of these cars,money,days,or mileage" =D!or pretty much,ANYTHING.so I like to EARN all of my stuff..and besides...I've NEVER used a game shark before anyways.The last time I ever used a cheating device was on Super Street Fighter II for Super Nintendo,hehe.I used a game genie,just to see what it was like to stand like 20 feet away and throw a punch or a kick,and it still hurts them,lol!

first when i got gt3 i wasn't a good driver so i checked the cheats for gameshak ( sorry ) and i bought a lot of cars and began to race and after a week i was driving better so restart another save and now i have almost everything without cheats

If people feel like cheating, you can't really change their opinion. Although you may hate it, they may think that it is a way for them to understand the game. Plus the gameshark isn't for cheaters, it helps people and gets you more out of the game.

Honestly I think this thread is a total waste...some play to play, some play to win, that's life. That happens in any facet of life. It's good that you play legitimately but you can't degrade someone by how they choose to play a game, that's their prerogative. I personally haven't cheated but I would like to get into hybridding someday for some laughs. You play the game your way let someone else play it like they want to...If you don't personally agree, think of it this way, they spent money on a game shark, you didn't.

You say cheaters suck, I say pointless rants suck.

this thread is full of useless opinions posted by ignorant people, in certain games cheats can be used for entertainment purposes, or to avoid doing something you really hate doing. for example; i hate vipers, i hate laguna seca, and i really don't want to spend an hour or two trying to beat S-6, since i want to do 'like the wind' and get the 787b, if i could cheat, i would. it isn't really practical for me to do this, since i don't buy vipers and I avoid laguna seca as much as possible, if i win gold in a race there you can bet your ass i wont be trying it again.

games aren't fun when they're too hard.

Here's where my opinion can differ a bit from mayorbill11. What he may consider hard, I might consider a challenge.

My second game I sharked out billion dollars and had a blast. this last time around, I took a minimalist approach to it, and only used what I had to. My skill has improved considerably and I've also enjoyed the game.

Outright cheating does diminish the game. Using an F1 in anything other than the Formula one championship will not help your skill.

Pointless rants do suck, but everyone enjoys the game in a different way.

I don't hate cheaters. I do think they are silly. Why buy the game in the first place if you don't really want to play it? But that's their choice, as long as they're not doing any OLR. I won't dictate how people should play.

But I wonder if they understand what they are throwing away. Case in point:

About 2 months ago, I was stalled on License Test S2, the GT40 at Seattle. I spent a couple of frustrating evenings beating myself to death on it, then I gave up. If I was a cheater, I would have just sharked myself golds on all the tests after the first 15 minutes, and called it a day.

Instead, I left it alone and raced most of Amateur, trying to use cars that were closely in line with the AI competition. Now I'm nearing completion of this level, and I'm going to need the S license.

So the other night I went back to try again. And beat S2, S7, and S8 in about 30 minutes total, never having run S7 or S8 at all.

I don't play all that frequently - a couple hours a week at most - and I'm not a spectacularly good driver. But playing, not cheating, made that big a difference in my driving ability. Cheaters are throwing away that chance to improve their skill. It is most assuredly their choice to play the way they like, but I still think it's silly.

Well I do own the gameshark but like someone on here said already,I only got it for all the hidden stuff they put in games now, alot of witch is almost inposable to find on your own.............But I need not and will not cheat on GT3 or GTA3



Oh yeah and I already beat GT3 now I'm trying to get all the cars and all the colurs of certen cars

Less fun for who?

To me, gaming is about having fun, and if you enjoy the game, whether you cheat or not, then you have got value for money.

If I cheat, am I making the game less 'fun' for me? Not if I still enjoy playing it.
Am I making it less 'fun' for Scottthebomb? No, because I have never and probably will never meet the guy.

Personally, I always try to complete games before cheating, but not all of us are blessed with amazing gaming talents, so sometimes I get stuck and need help. If, by doing this I manage to get a little further in a game and therefore enjoy it more, that is fine by me.

This board has too many members who wish to impose their own views and opinions on others. Try to realise that people are different and be tolerant of people who perhaps aren't as skillful at GT3 as yourselves.
