Cheating new Nurburgring 24 Hour time trial

I was going to say "beat the time, collect your mil, job done" but they've pulled it now, so it's a moot point.

Maybe it's because I've never stood a chance of topping these leader boards that I'm a bit meh when it comes to having cheaters on them. It's a bit sad that the game has so many exploitable flaws. Makes you wonder what they were doing for those 5+ years it took to develop. Recent evidence would suggest "Hooning around the Nurburgring"

Yeah I agree. I don't see "Gold Medalist" and "Gold Medalist - Cheat category" in the Olympic games, do you? -LOL- a certain south park episode suddenly crossed my mind -LOL-
But the GT5 TT's are a bit more important, i hope they fix the problem and bring it back as soon as possible. Also they should give us another fourtnight to complete the challenge. It would be awesome -in my humble opinion- to have alternative rankings, listing per car, tyre selection, camara point, controler use (or steeringwheel) and i could go on & on. But the cheaters or even glitchers i LEAST care about, preferable it wouldn't be possible.

Hmm I thought I'd just remembered my total incorrectly while running the seasonals last night, but now you say that I believe mine was reduced too. Could have sworn I had 11mil then when I completed a race I was only 10mil but I just assumed I'd brought some cars from the UCD and didn't remember.

Not that it's a large amount of money now (like 2 or 3 seasonal races at most) but it really is a shame that we all have to suffer the indignity of having credits removed because of a few idiots that glitched the TT.

I'm going to have to compare my current save file to the one on my USB to see for myself.
 
Saw the 7 min times for the 24h layout.

Not surprize they pulled the test for those who spent last weekend viewing the real 24hrs Nürburgring the fastest time was somthing like 8m45sec.

By a Ferrari 458 GT car on special soft quali tires. & about 500 BHP.

the limit for this event was less so anything that fast is just not real world,even allowing for a clear track.

Best I manged was 8:51 with a Audi , why people have to cheat I do not know.

Thats my 50 cents worth on this test.👍
 
It's stupid PD cancelled Nurnburg TT, i'd like to win it honest, if others use a glitch well that sucks, but to cancel the event ? Come on PD that's like shooting with a canon at flies. Why can't i finish this event ?
Because you forgot something and some people (ab)used it, i realy don't care that much about the "cheating" to have this event cancelled. It was one i most liked, i'd love to finish it, with or without cheating of a few (censored) people.
I hope it'll be back soon.
For the people who lost money, could it be the price money ? Just a thought.

I think the missing money (for me at least) might just have been a senior moment on my part, I thought I saw a loss that wasn't really there or maybe since I was running seasonal races when the update was put up the system hiccuped and didn't properly save the prize for a race I'd won.
 
Wow, they just took away the event and didnt even put in another as a replacement,
i spent ages learning that track, got a 7:59 putting me like 200th. :(
 
Forget about those cheating !¤%&&¤%()¤¤Fu***rs... The only thing I'm looking at are my friends rankings :)
 
Lol, they shouldn't have cancelled the event. Removing the leader boards is what they should have done.

I'm pretty sure about it.
I started with 1 mil before doing the TT, and got to 2 mil.
Shut down my console for about 2 hrs, my credit back to 1 mil. Check the nurb TTn wasn't there, ask my friends and finally got to this thread.

It was like your bank account is credited mistakenly, and the bank pull it back without your knowledge. I've been in the same situation IRL, sucks...
I didn't check the helmets and suits though... I wonder if I put it to my bob, and let him race, so PD will take back the used, stinky suits and helmets... Haha
 
It shows an unbelievable degree of OCD if they are actually withdrawing funds from accounts. Someone out there probably went into debt over that.

I'm not complaining. I think it's hilarious. I mean... money in a race car game?

Imo they shut it down so that they wouldn't have to stoop to naming and shameing and because I think that PD was more than a little embarassed...
For them the best thing to do is sweep it under the rug and the sooner the better...Better luck next time PD!
 
Yeah PD pulled back the event out of embarassement and my guess is to prevent the glitchers set another example of exploit because their replays was shown to all the world.

Now, we would expect PD to put another nurb patch on the next update... And that's mean another delay on the long list of more useful patch.

i'm glad the issue was addressed. what i'm more glad about is the fact that last night i managed an 8:50, got my million, and got in before the cancellation. had the gratification of a really fun, clean lap, plus credits :)

honestly, who wins when people cheat? i got my monies, same as the cheaters, but without tarnishing my own name, plus it was fun to try and shred the ring after a few cold ones

seriously folks, stop screwing up video games for the millions of honest players out there. not cool bros, not cool

That's impressive, and I'm glad you got your money. Some are saying they had their money removed, so be aware of that.

I'm not sure why PD should be embarrassed there was a glitch. They should fix it, but that track is unbelievably complex and impressively detailed, and rendering it and mapping it out must leave the potential for billions of collision errors. They missed one.

It's no biggie. I guess it's more frustrating to see glitchers top the leaderboard than it is to not have the event.

If you want a event , go and set one up in the time trial section or load your N 24 track in practice mode and do some driving with the restrictions PD has set.

My first and most important thought is cheating is cheating is cheating .... enough said.

I'm tired of quasi-apologists saying "if people want to take advantage of an exploit in the game" .... I mean seriously that will not stand at all.

There are bugs in many games complete perfect or otherwise. I've often played a new game and had it hang/crash at some point or been able to breakout on the Modern Warfare 2 maps for example.

Now just because they are there does that mean I'm going to ignore the purpose of the exercise? Which afterall is to race a fast clean lap of the Nurburgring 24Hr race track with the implication of remaining on the tarmac at all times.

Seeing the cheaters replays made it plain that something was awry. There is probably not a car in the world that can physically drive the Nurburgring in 6 mins never mind the extended 24hr version of the track. I doubt there is a driver either he he.

The only thing PD could do was to remove it I think because of the ire furore and general outrage the bad behavior of a few has caused. Ho hum seems the selfish shizzle of the hum drum world is filtering into the virtual one too. Never mind chaps.

On a positive note i got to pimp it a few times with different cars as well as getting gold on the first lap:scared:

It doesn't solve things: we who want to enjoy TT (wich is different than practice laps, period) are screwed. Others who want to terrorise sony, PD, PSN or GT5 now have got their way. PD makes herself open to killjoys by acting like this. Bad move PD..., bad.

EDIT: Do you see the tour du france cancelled because someone's use doping?

well put chariot, it also reminded me of something i forgot to mention.

on my first attempt a few days ago, i loaded the top ghost (sub 7 min), and my ps3 froze 5:28 into my lap, dunno if anyone else has experienced this but the ghost was so full of it that MY console was like .... uhhhhhhhh

Explain the difference in practice mode.
I don´t see a difference. OH WAIT...there´s no leaderboard where the cheaters take the first 250 positions.:lol:

If I were the cheaters , I wouldn´t risk it a second time.
Maybe there´s no more TT or events then. ;)
