I don't remember the actual car I used, as I 'm not in front of my PS3 at the moment, but for every new race or series that I intend to compete in, I always click the list of AI cars that may be in the race, to get a good idea of which car I need to be competitive.
I realize that is a rather obvious answer, but I'm sure someone else will tell you an exact car, if you're really desperate and do not wish to work it out by yourself.
The list will not only give you the car names, but their rated pp and hp levels as well. 👍
