christmas gift cars, fake?

I already have a chrome line jag and that M3 looks like turd. I'll take the Lambo though :)

I'm happy with the 1.05 update......I mean the jag might not cut it if ppl wanna participate in the classic race series in the professional event even fully tuned.....
 
A Japanese Psstore will let you download and install the cars, however they will not show up in the game unless you have a japanese version of GT5 apparently. I have US GT5 with a japanese psn account and tried it...does not work.

I could have told you that before, for some reason the topics that actually mentioned this were locked and this one remained open without anyone even posting the info...
 
Let' s wait and see. Haven't seen anything in my store, and I am from the Netherlands.

People are more interested in posting a thread without looking to see if something was already posted recently on the issue. And now we may see threads that say "Screw you PD" because they didn't give everyone the cars. And even if they did, people would still complain.
 
It's available now on the Japanese PSN store but it will only work unless you have the Japanese copy of GT5. I have a Japanese copy and I downloaded the cars and the cars automatically goes to your garage. It makes sense that the Japanese would get these cars considering the cars they got with purchasing the game were the stealth cars, although I wouldn't be surprised if other regions got the downloadable gift as well.

I only want the XJ13 since I have the other two cars from purchasing the CE version. But since I will win one within the next week its not going to destroy me that I don't have it.

These promotion are Sony's idea of promoting the game, not PD. You should blame Sony America for being so stingy.

Well, looks like Japan only as there is no sign on the EU store. Did the Facebook Challenge out of desperation and obtained the XJ13 earlier this afternoon.

Unfortunately, that isn't even an option for North America, either.
 
Does anyone know exactly what time the cars showed up in the Japanese PSN Store? For NA, they may be set to show up on Christmas day, which would make more sense from a "gift" perspective, since most Americans celebrate on Christmas day rather than Christmas Eve.

I'll check in the morning, but at this point I'm not holding my breath. I don't understand why SCEA always seems so lackadaisical when it comes to the GT series. They rake in huge amounts of money, but never want to go out of their way to do anything special like SCEJ and SCEE do.
 
Well, I love GT5 so far. I think they have done a great job listening to their users and slowly fixing a lot of the issues.

If I get the "Gift Cars", I will be super happy. If I don't, I will still be just as happy as I can still play the game. :)

US get's the Academy, Europe gets the B-Spec Challenge, Japan gets 3 free cars, and Australia gets das boot, again.

They are available now.
I could download them on my Japanese account but it seems you need a Japanese version of the game to get them in your GT5 garage.

Isn't Australia a PAL disc? I think it's the same disc as Europe. AFAIK, there were 4 disc types.. NA/EU/JP/ASIA. In your case, you do have the option of making a EU account and doing the Facebook thing. Just claim on the EU account on your PS3, then when you sign back in over on your main account, the XJ13 should be gifted to you. DLC cars work across all accounts on a single PS3, as long as the disc type is correct.

They have made a small modification to GT5: When the opening screen is shown, the music has a christmas tint... just listen and you'll hear..
Put christmas cars in it, is not unthinkable
 
ARGHHH!!!! i had a Facebook account and it got closed by the admins and now i cant get the XJ13!!!:grumpy:

and am i the only one who wants the XJ13 so they can do that historical race thingy?!
 
^^You cant use the chromeline XJ13 for the Historical race..
 
I got the Jag chrome line form the facebook app, really nice car to race for an old timer holds its own against far newer oponents. The MAJOR drag is that you cant use it in the Historic racing cups, either A or B spec.

Was totally gutted when I found out, think it has to do with it being a chrome line edition as it doesn't have a year of manufacturing in its title or description, great for a freebee but still had to grind out to win B spec like the ind to get the Toyata 7 for the Historic cup lol.
