Driving 200+ mph down the straight that follows the Mulsanne corner in the afternoon or the dead of night, entering Indianapolis, hitting the tight, 90 degree turn at Arnage, then attacking the Porsche curves is one of the best driving experiences the game has to offer. A sprawling, iconic track, legends are born at LeMans.
Do you love it? Hate it? Or do you regard it as just another track?

I love Circuit De La Sarthe, less than my love for the Nurburgring Nordschleife, but I love Circuit De La Sarthe very much 👍

then cutting the final corners and passing your mate to win mwuauahahahaha.

I love it when there are no chicanes. :D

👍 Blasting down the straight at 230+ for a couple minutes barely hanging on to control. That will get your heart pumping! Adding chicanes is just annoying (but probably makes it safer in RL). To bad there are fewer chances to use the no chicane track in the game.

Best track in the game IMO,
Loved it in GT4, got into the 24 Heures Du Mans because of it, went to France to be at the 2010 race and am going back again this year,
Nothing beats tearing down the Mulsanne in the dead of night, flashing lights at slower cars and flying past,
Its one of those fantastic moments when you forget about the flaws, the shadows and the standards and just get caught in a moment of racing/driving bliss.

You drive at Le Mans?

I come into GT5 having played the previous games, but never really being a fan of racing. I'm now becoming quite a racing fan, and love the history of the real courses.

Circuit de la Sarthe = love it.

I have some good memories on this track. The group I race with did an ALMS series in FM3 and that track was the finale (with chicanes). We did over 2 HOURS online straight with that track and it was great. Would have been great to do that last race on the PS3 with the Day/Night transition and weather.

The ultimate mix would have been GT5's Day/Night Weather + Forza's damage system and car selection (being it was an ALMS series Porsche was definitely involved). That would have made a helluva finale for our series ... which my team won by the way ;) lol

I think he means like started to enjoy it, like say you catch as glimps of F1 and then you watch it frequently ect. That's what he meant (I think)

The bit that suggests he does drive at Le Mans is this:
"Nothing beats tearing down the Mulsanne in the dead of night, flashing lights at slower cars and flying past, "

But I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about in GT5, considering he mentioned that that experience made him forget about the shadows.

In the Le Mans / Audi 2008 documentary "Truth in 24", Alan McNish gives a great corner by corner break down of the track while you follow in-car video.

After playing GT5, I've noticed what appears to be a huge difference in track condition. GT5's Sarthe circuit is amazingly bumpy, especially on the straight, while the actual in-car video doesn't show anything of the severity of what you experience in GT5.

I can't believe the ACO would allow such real-life conditions while being so particular about all their other regulations. Imagine an R10 hitting those bumps at 220 mph for 24 hrs without falling apart, or flying off the track. They did shave that big hill down quite a bit after the Mercedes cars went airborne several years ago.

My favorite track and motor sport event. My dad is a huge sports car fan and grew up not far from where Jim Hall based Chaparral Cars, Inc. All my slot cars as a kid where Le Mans and Can Am cars and it stuck with me and I collect Die-casts of cars that participate in the race. I'll run just about every car possible around it. I still have Le Mans 24 hours for PS2 and ran that track a ton in GT4.

I still think "Le Mans 24 hours" has done the best to translate the race on a console with the different class of cars on track.

what i get is he means driving in game seeing as he said he attended the 2010 race not participated.

Yeah thanks.
I think that having different class of cars would be too much for the PS3 to handle, too many cars on the field.

I really enjoyed it in GT4. It was new to me then. But like soooooo much in GT5, it's not new any more. I appreciate its history and all that, but... :indiff:

It's a very nice flowing track with memorable corners and a super long straight. You can't ask for much more. My only grip with the track is that in slow cars it can be less exciting.

I loved the unchicaned La Sarthe, but I grew to love the chicaned version even more. It adds something to do other than just lay on the throttle, and keeps you occupied later on in the race.

With a wheel that has FF the No chicane version is fun, but with a controller it is dull.
The circuit belong in the top 3 of what Gt5 has to offer, it is very fun to drive in a close race since it rewards skill and timing so well

There are few tracks with this much history and few tracks with this much speed, especially high speed corners. Plus, prototypes? This is IT for prototypes :D
Too bad there are no 917s or Jag D-Types in GT5.
