Practicesing on the simulator
your picture of the Mclaren is not the Spanish GP, it is in fact Watkins Glen,...you will note the famous American Race flagman/starter Tex Hopkins in his lavender suit standing under the flag bridge. That's what the Glen looked like before the Blue Armco and concrete grandstands went up in 69 or 70 and turned a nice quiet country track into a joke. Later those guard rails became the signature of the Glen...but when they went up EVERYBODY hated them. Robin's egg blue Armco...yuck!

That is a rare shot & as a huge Brock fan, one I haven't seen before.

Check out PB. He looks like he's had a big night the night before.

Also, parts all over the place tells me it's taken after they disassembled the car & prior to reassembly.
I'm also guessing it's before Bill Paterson was announced as a sponsor with PB standing in front of his name on the car.

Finally, the trip to Le Mans was a complete disaster with promises made my the BMW factory nowhere near met, a total lack of spares & a rear spoiler mounted incorrectly that, at least allows the car to be the fastest CSL down the straights that year.

@Turbo Great pictures but can you limit it to 5 per post please? Helps with the loading times on each page.

James Hunt, Stirling Moss, Roy Salvadori and Victor Gauntlett
At the launch of the Nimrod sportscar team in 1981. Gauntlett was chairman of Aston Martin and a classic sportscar enthusiast.

Goodwood looking a bit forlorn back in those days.

That's the view from the pit straight with the chicane in the background and the Super Shell building at Woodcote corner further back.
