Out of curiosity would you guys enter and 'back' the competition if i had another unedited one started?
Would it have something that makes it different than the unedited comp we already have ?
If so, how it would be different ?

A really strong entry, nice vibrant colours and including the red and white rumble strips really emphasises the speed of the vehicles. I think your photo fell down in one area. I don't think it really focused on any of the three cars, and as a result it lacks a bit of excitement and to me, it missed the crux of the theme; time standing still.

Thanks!!

I know i suppose making poll 2 weeks ago on a 2.0 got my hopes up, i thought my entry looked edited compared to my usual shots. I want to start another unedited weekly comp but im not sure Slipstreamz would have time to monitor it as i know hes pretty busy a lot of the time.

But... PMC is already unedited.

Can i get some feedback on mine, i wasnt holding my breath on this weeks comp, this is the first poll where ive struggled to decide.

(Im just posting a link to it because im in a hurry and it takes ages for me to upload.)

Sorry cphbullet I didn't miss you intentionally. You've done a good job with the warm filter, although I think I'd prefer your photo without the car! :p There's not enough of the car in the shot, for it to be the focus of attention, instead it looks like its in the way of the monument. I think including more/all of the car is going to help and I would use a darker paint choice, as the white washes the car out further. Good effort, particularly for an unedited pic!

I was thinking the only editing that would be allowed was the regular cropping and that signatures or what ever they're called could be added, and id supply a prize car?
But... PMC is already unedited.

Yeah its just as i cant edit my pictures and theyre normally not HD -_- ,my chances are very slim in the competitions other than PMC so im only really entering 1 comp a week with a chance so i was hoping we could perhaps have another unedited type competition?

Just so I'm understanding - you don't like your current chances of winning, and want to start a second, nearly-identical competition because of this?

Don't read that with a negative tone, I'm just re-reading what you've wrote. You're welcome to start an (unofficial) competition if you so desire (that's how the Secret Santa competition started), but I think you may find some of the community will wonder why there's a need for a second one so similar to one currently running :)

I'm kind of the same way although I do agree with Slipz that it needs to be different.

And don't forget, CCCL and Secret Santa alternate between PMC and 2.0, so you have more than one competition to enter.

Also, thanks for the criticism, rpanico. 👍 About the lost of detail of the preview, I've noted that a bit, but seeing that the full-size is what counts, and doesn't suffers from the loss of quality, I didn't though it was a problem.

I suppose my motives weren't clear for this idea, i care more about making poll and getting votes than winning, id like there to be another competition of this type so i have a better chance of making poll, i feel like entering other competitions is pointless in my case as my chances of getting anywhere are slim to none, i for the life of me cant work out how i made a 2.0 poll with an unedited photo but i really doubt it'll happen again for the 2.0 or CCL which would just leave me with PMC and secret santa (of which i thought was the same as 2.0 until reading Nicknamealguem's post). So as i say its more about making poll and getting votes as it feels like (not sure how to word it but like a 'pat on the back' for my pictures) than winning.

On a slightly different note incase i come across as arrogant to be clear, i do have the money for a laptop and photoshop but right now its that or a 2 week caribbean holiday with my girlfriend... so obvious choice lol.

I wasnt aware of this so thanks for clearing that up for me:)

Here is mine. Any Feeback ? :)

Did you enter during the entry period? As I can't remember seeing yours. Anyway :) three basic things I would do differently are:

1. Use a slower shutter speed to show the speed of the vehicle.

2. Try using panning mode three as this will give a nice sense of speed whilst keeping the car in focus.

3. Make sure all of the car is in the photo.

I really liked your entry, certainly captures that moment of fear the split second before crashing (I suppose I should say wrecking for Nascar right? :D).

However, the right side of the photo is too close to the vehicle, zooming back just a bit further is all it needs. Also, I think zooming out will help put the photo into context as right now, its hard to tell how and why the car is about to 'wreck' ;)

EDIT: Missed this one...

Again I'm not sure you entered during the entry period, but good photo with really strong cool tones that certainly captures the street racing scene. The use of low aperture really makes the photo look that bit better (makes it seem like the Evo is hunting down the Impreza). Make sure you read the rules, and enter before the competition close and I'm sure you'll do alright.

Cheers for the feedback Rpanico 👍 In this image I tried going for realism. Both in the colour of the picture but mostly in the compostition. I tried to capture a shot that looked as though someone lifted their camera as the crash was unfolding, with whatever zoom and aperture settings that were currently programmed. I thought I did a good job capturing that, but if that isnt what you were looking for thats just too bad. Better luck next time as they say :) Thanks again buddy.

This is an awesome shot Captain. 👍
And in the light of your explanation of it, even more so - I'd say it's my favourite NASCAR shot to date.
However, in isolation I do agree with rpanico and his reasons for it not making the poll. It's very hard when judging and you come down to the last positions for the poll - you have to get really picky with photos to eliminate those last few. In your case the car being right at the very edge of the photo was enough to knock it out. For me when shooting for a comp and I get a shot I really like, I usually take several more of the same shot only slightly different - zoomed in or out more, slightly different angle, exposure, aperture or filter and then select the one to enter thinking about what might knock it out of the poll if it came down to having to be picky about it.
Not really sure if this helps me or not, but I do at least make most polls - not that I ever do very well in the polls. :sly:

The poll is closed and let's give a congrats to bmxmitch!

Is it too late to ask for feedback on my entry

Oh, and a hearty congratulations to bmxmitch
