I think ill pull off 10th if I dont crash too much.
 
I don't think we'll see times faster than 1:45.0xx in the race without slipstreaming, as the way you have to drive to get those kind of times would wear the tyres too quickly, I'd say.

So I'd say race pace would be low 1:45's on fresh tyres. Can't actually remember the kind of times I was doing on worn tyres, though they may be down to something like 1:50's right before when I'd pit.

EDIT: Did you end up using the same setup as me, Brett?

Damn...I tried that 330 P4 tune from the tuning forum and it was slow.....default is faster although harder to drive.

I'm starting to think people are tuning their cars for a "comfort" setup rather than for speed. :(

Maybe I can find something somewhere. Otherwise I loose this. But its just for fun I guess.
 
What sort of times are you getting? You cant be as slow as me :lol:

I dont even know. I was getting 1:46.0 with fuel sim off, then I got 1:46.8 with the tune! And the default run I did was when I was not practiced at all...first laps. So my guess is the tune is 2 seconds slower without tire sim/fuel sim. I have a feeling the "tune" was done for offline not online. I'll have to play with it some more with fuel load. So far though it seems "stable" I'm not getting any of the problems they claim come with the car.

I've really only done 10 laps. Its not that much fun with just me out there. I need to race you guys to get better at these. :sly:

I wish GT5 had a reasonable career mode with good AI to practice.

Maybe I will brave F1 2011.

Would you race me in that game berty?
 
I'm getting F1 2011 at christmas with my new Driving Force GT. Can't wait :D

I think less than 5 of us have that kind of pace right now, so expect a higher result.


EDIT: Since you didn't see my previous edit I'll repeat myself- are you using the same setup as me, Brett?

Also, you may want to look at the poll results again now that there are more votes.

Open tyre usage is also currently winning. 👍

Since grid starts have now won, will they be using the false start check? I always think that the person in front will mess up and leave me having to go onto the grass to not hit them or turn into the driver next to me. (unless I'm on the other side of the grid <_<)

Wll there be any more practice sessions before tomorrow's race?
 
I want to use false start check so I guess we will unless someone has a big problem with it.

Something else I noticed- Sakery got a bit too eager with the poll and voted for both kinds of race start. :sly:

Just done half hour of practice. Best time is 1:46:3 although I'm going to need some gear ratios if we're using grid start.

Plymo- Good time mate, timewise your about mid pack and a second faster than me :(
 
Spurgy just set a 1.44.2!! He is 3 seconds a lap faster than me in the same car

Seen him in the main GT5 forum and he's always seemed unhelpful.

Anyway, tonight confirmed my long held suspicion that I am quicker than you :sly: Even if you are a bugger to overtake :lol:

Let´s hope he had SRF on 👍

I won´t change my setup that much, because my longrun is superb (Tom and Electric can prove that too).
Hope they get almost same Times as I did :D

@Poll: I want a challenge.Rolling starts make it easier to set the Ratios perfectly. Standing starts with the 2D is one => why not have both.
 
Tom- In these old crates maybe :grumpy:

Sak- Chappys have it all with the tyre wear man, you guys are looking dangerous.

Stewards report is out for the FGTC, its the worse race we have ever had (24 altogether I think).
