Hello, I'm having an issue with CSP (lol, again) but this time on clutch.
You see - sometimes it engages when my foot's resting on it, sometimes it engages midway and sometimes works as it should (engages at the end).
Also, it needs to be calibrated every single time I turn my wheel on.

Sensors are tight (the box on the right of the pedal) and magnets are tight too (those allen screws under the pedal).

I never opened them up and I have the spring set to max resistance (tried setting the spring back to normal but the problem is there too).

Any help will be appreciated, cheers.

Also - they're basically new pedals, not even 2 months old with less than 1 month of use.

UPDATE 1:

Sent a proper e-mail to CS and made a video:

UPDATE 2:

Fanatec responded to my proper email (email which included: copy of my invoice, device's serial number, video of the problem, platform it's used on and software it's used on) in less than 24h. I'm really amazed, all that talk about bad CS and everything...
People - stop blaming Fanatec's CS and start looking at yourselves, if you have a problem: send Fanatec's CS a proper e-mail including everything they ask and you'll be responded with great speed and professionalism.

The problem was in loose magnetic sensor (under the pedal), I just had to tighten it even more and the problem was gone.

+1 to Fanatec

UPDATE 3:

The problem has returned, sent another email and made another video.
Now my clutch isn't working at all.

Waiting for reply.

UPDATE 4:

Fanatec responded to my email in less than 24h again, and they asked me to make a video of CSP connected to a PC so I made another video:

Waiting for a reply...

UPDATE 5:

Fanatec replied, they're sending me a new sensor.

UPDATE 6:

Sensors are on the way, expecting delivery on 30th.

UPDATE 7:

Sensors have arrived 1 day before schedule. Pretty speedy service. 👍

UPDATE 8:

I finished installing the sensor and the clutch is working flawlessly.
Looks like this is over. :)

Just a quick question does the problem arise after it starts up or does the early clutch engagement up intermittently?

Energizerr I am not sure what the problem is.
I have an issue when trying to connect G27 pedals to GT2.

Basically it's hit and miss and the fact I now have two adapters rules that out.
Pretty sure its my wheel that is at fault.
Sometimes it binds ok other times I get cross talk(press clutch, throttle registers etc.)

I know your fault is a different one to my own but the fact you get random issues on separate pedals throttle, clutch etc could mean a wheel fault.

Purely just throwing out ideas here. Pedal unit itself is fairly a basic item. The wheel packs a lot of electronics.

My wheel works fine with CSP and Im really scratching my head over the issue.
I wonder if I should send my wheel off to support.
Not sure if they have any G27 pedals lying about to check my fault though.

@Jwolf - it happens when I use the clutch or when I rest my foot on the pedal and it happens randomly, if you ask me - my money goes that some sensor is loose, I'll tighten the rod tomorrow

@left888 - I only play GT5, so on GT5

@Spag - I'd like to know too, but in my case I'm sure it's not the wheel

In my experience with GT5 I try to use the clutch with the CSPs and manual but I can never get it to work smoothly at all, so I'm afraid I can't help you much.

Energizzzzer, have you had any luck tightening the sensor lock screw? Also, try not calibrating. I also only use my wheel/pedals for gt5 and I never calibrate my pedals. I am always confused by peoples posts claiming they need to do this all the time. Unless I happen to go through the calibration process of each pedal subconciously, which is highly unlikely.

Tighten what? Can you post pic so I can see what to fiddle with?
Cheers.

A HA! This was my EXACT issue. I tried EVERYTHING under the sun to fix this to no avail Energizerrr.

I literally took the pedals apart piece by piece and put them back together, same issue. Then changed the wiring from gas to clutch to see if it was that, and it wasn't. Also tried tightening an already tight sensor lock screw, no luck. Tried a few other troubleshooting things that did nothing. So, I had to send them into support.

I will have them back this friday. I too had the SAME issue you are talking about. For me, it was iRacing. I was trying to save some gas @ Daytona under caution by coasting in N as much as I could. Then the clutch starting acting strange. Just wait. Give it a day or 2 and the clutch will simply stay engaged, pressed or not. You will have to map a button on the wheel for clutch for now.

Wish I could say different, but that is what I had to do. Also, they did not say what it was that caused this. Maybe there will be a slip or email to tell me what it was. They were fixed the day they were sent out there and shipped back the NEXT day. I will get them back THIS friday.

No way I'm sending the pedals in...oh well, looks like I'll have to live without clutch.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. 👍

I'll mail CS and ask them to tell me how to fix this on my own.

Sorry for OT.
Ant, didn't you have issues with your wheel? Can't remember if you did?

All ok now.

These screws. I think it is a 1.5-2.5mm Allenwrench that is required.

And yes, my wheel still has issues, but I brokered a deal with Fanatec where they will discount the GT2 towards a CSW. I have come to realize (for me of course) that PC racing is where the most realistic and changeable racing is. So, the CSW will provide what I want and need.

So, once I receive my CSW, I will ship the GT2 to support here in the US. My GT2 will NOT connect to the 360 first or second try, and codewheel sensor(what reads the mapping/tracking of the wheel) is off with quick movements.

BTW, need to find me in the states, should not be too hard now.

As long as your happy with that then good.

Edit. Fanatec underpants too?

Do they make them? if so, where? I need them like now! J/k :P

I mean, it would be nice to have a flawless wheel. I will in time.......... I for now, can wait for the CSW. I just want to hopefully (fingers crossed) have a worry/problem free wheel like my old momo....... Nothing but issues with the GT2 in MY experience. CSP's are hands down the best.

That one's tight.
Good thing is that GT5 doesn't need clutch, or I'd be pretty much eff'd.

Yea, mine was tight too. They say that is the MAIN cause for the pedal to not register properly. I also did the other 2-3 things they wanted me to test to see if they were the root cause to no avail.

Mate, they are LIGHTNING quick when it comes to fixing and re-shipping the pedals out. If you have warranty, I'd say you are slightly stubborn to not send them in. I myself am VERY stubborn, but know when something needs to be done to do it. Plus, they reimburse you the shipping funds.

It would take MAX, 10-17 days after shipping to receiving them back. Just scream @ support a little, and you will get results. I myself actually very little utilize the clutch. I shift using the gas(I know terrible for transmission) BUT, if you know how to use that properly, beats using clutch by a LOT. I only use clutch to save gas, literally.

But mate...I'm from a 3rd world country - shipping alone would cost me 100euros, and not to mention customs.

I see your issue clear as a sunny day now. Good Luck I guess is the best I can say..........I wish I knew more to help...... :/ You can inquire about getting all new electronics and doing it yourself if that helps. They will gladly send what you need to fix this. You just need to get hands on.

That's what I'd like.
I like fixin' stuff up (that's why I have no speakers now haha).
Cheers.

GREAT, contact support. Let them know the issue. Also, then ask them look up RMA11/00905 F. That was my RMA for the pedals. Maybe, they can look up what it was to fix it since our issue sounds like it is the exact same thing. I know I am in the states, but that RMA should be filed with the fix that was necessary regardless of location.

Hope this helps!

Sent the mail to e-support@fanatec.com, wish me luck.
Thanks AGP.

You followed their anal probe list, right? if not, I suggest you re-send. They even state, if the items are not in order or not all there, they will NOT respond.

But good luck. Let me and us know how you make out. I hope they simply just send all new electronics to you. That would be easiest. They did for a buddy of mine here in the states. He fixed it himself.

AGP maybe I missed reading it in this thread but what exactly was the problem they fixed with your CSP?

Well, I didn't.
Serial number...my CSP are fixed to my rig, it'd take me 10 mins to take them off.
Games on which the problem occurs...I didn't write down.
Video...it's a random event, how am I to catch it?

Meh, I did include my invoice and explanation of the problem.

Idk, they did not tell me. Maybe there will be a slip or paper that let's me know when they arrive friday............ We shall see.

And energizerrr, you should make a clip/vid and give a good explanation. Half the reason why support does not respond is the lack to follow that procedural list. They even state if you miss just 1 they have the right to not reply.......... Just trying to assist so everything goes smooth and prompt for you. You MUST follow that list or they won't reply. EDIT: They might, but it might be in time. They need to focus on the people who took the time to follow the "list"

Keep us posted, having 2 sets of CSP I would like to know as much as possible about them.
