The reason there was no rubber laid down was the lack of memory the ps2 has on board (32mb). So physics modules+Vehicle renders+particle effects+track=No memory what so ever.
As far as car behavior, the GT3/(4?) engine does not support it. Your car does not change shape in that game because 1.)Programming time 2.)Console resources.
And finally, what I really really want, the clutch. I think that they could have the basic control implemented in a week or less. But once again, alot of trouble goes into that one. New samples just for one. New engine noises, starter sounds, grinding sounds for synchro killing misshifts. They have deadlines.
Particle effects need to be enhanced desperatly. I am (another

) be able to handle all of this stuff. And more. Hopefully that cell chip stuff will be able to help us GTers out.
