Am I only one who always uses cockpit view?
Even when I drive a standard (today Countach 88' great car) I use cockpit view with this horrible black dashboard...
But I got used to this view and I don't bother whether is it a premium car or a standard one.

Has anyone else here got the same addiction or habit?;)

The same here, actually the black dashboard makes for a better driving inmersion than bumper cam, so much that normally the HUD is even disabled.

I'm glad PD has equipped standards with simplified cockpit view. Driving the Caterham Seven using cockpit view is a great experience.

I generally check to see if the standards have the shifting animation - I don't normally drive with the cockpit view on, even if it's a premium (excepting cruises.) If they have it, I leave it on for a little bit and then switch back to the chase camera.

The open cockpit cars are the exception, though.

I only use cockpit view when I'm cruising, Using open wheels, and if I'm using my MX5 I usually go for cockpit view, looks good but I get dizzy pretty fast so I change back to bonnet view.

Cockpit view always!! :D
It just feels best for me and when I use another view I seem to make more mistakes :P

I use cockpit view but not in standard cars. The black silhouette really takes away from the game and looks very cheap to me.

How could you think you were alone - especially after the reaction to CodeMasters excluding the driver's view from Grid 2.

I've been using the interior view from Dirt 2 onwards and I was glad they got added for the standards - even now when it's slashing down on the 'ring and visibility is extremely poor, I'm still peering through the windscreen: so yeah, I'm addicted too.

I use cockpit view for all except online races. When I really need to go fast hood view is the best, much more visibility.

Since this games launch date Ive used the cockpit cam for maybe a total of 10 minutes

It just stifles so much of your visibility. In most cars you cannot even see the upcoming apex

Its neat for novelty but I really never use it. So the addition of standard cockpits I didnt care for them either

I have found the hood cam is best for racing. You have the most visibility and you can take the best line

I raced online with cockpit view, even at Deadnutseven races, where cars often goes 2 wide, and spread from lead to last within a second gap :) Really a challenge, but I love the tension of being inside a car.

I only use cockpit, but when I played GT5 there were no cockpit views for Standard models.

I use cockpit for everything offline. Standards too. Much more immersive.
Making the switch to cockpit for online now.

I like the cockpit view but it just makes driving tougher. I use bumper cam now, the car following view is somehow 'wrong', forza have that view better IMO

There is no bonnet cam in GT5 guys, it's a roof cam.

It depends on the car. There's some cars where it's no doubt a roof cam (Ferrari 458), on others it's definitely on the hood (Premium Nissan S15).

I use cockpit veiw with TH8 RS shifter for the complete driver feeling using a rig. I think it's harder to compete this way, but that's what makes it fun. I remember when the game first came out people would complain about the shaking in cockpit mode. Did they fix it or are people more forgiving? Personally I don't feel a thing.

What's nice is to turn all HUD off in a premium car and hit the Nordschleife. I'll do that with day/night change, my headphones cranked up and cruise. Love it!

When they gave the standards the cockpit view, I remember thinking this just looks stupid, apart from a couple of open top cars (Prowler & GSX-R/4) it's looks tacky and cheapens the game. I still think that.

However, I do like the cockpit view on Premium cars and use it a lot, not all the time but frequently.

Always cockpit view, in premium or standards alike.

But, on standards, visibility on rain is very poor because the lack of wipers, so i switch back to bumper view.

They didn't fix it, but they did tone it down greatly. I almost think I remember them removing it completely and then adding it back at something like 10% of its former level. It never looked natural but I(and a very tiny minority) nonetheless preferred it the old way, it's very sterile-looking now and far less movement than you actually see when driving at 35mph - let alone 120, and I never found it to make visibility any more difficult.

But since it never really looked right and since lots of people(surely including a small few who likely would never use that view anyway) complained and since making it optional/adjustable would have probably been too much work, I can understand why they changed it. You'd think it would be somewhat risky for anyone seizure-prone too. Anyway, that's why you don't see many complaints about it these days.
