Code of Conduct breach

I don't think it's PD that operate the word filters
I believe you are correct. My understanding is that this is a PSN feature. Not sure if there's a list anywhere (highly doubt it) but it is also used when you are trying to setup a PSN ID or edit your profile and such.

I have shared a picture of my newly purchased 330 P4 (OMG its a dream to drive) with the caption 'It's been a hard day and night' referring to beatles and the amount of time it took to earn the credits for it.
When I look at the picture now, the word 'night' has been replaced with ***** by PD.

I cannot think of any language where 'night' is a rude word? I recall 'engine' getting the ******* treatment in a previous GT game?

The swear filter is designed to only look for specific groupings of letters, not full words.

If you type “engine” the game treats it as “gin”. If you type “night”, it’s probably being interpreted as “***ht”.

The filters must work slightly different from PSN ID to in-game because one of my PSN ID's can't be put into text in lobbies. THC_gtmic becomes *********, it's the THC that triggers the swear filter while gtmic is fine (in GT6, I haven't tested it in Sport).

"Mitsubishi" also gets blanked out as did "N1 '88" in one of my livery names.

PDI have been very vauge about what's considered 'illegal'. What's legal in one country is illegal in another. I still believe the decal uploader is open to a massive copyright infringement case or individual users being potentially done by companies for distribution of copyrighted material etc.

Not likely. Similar cases have already been through the US court system 20+ years ago.

Considering that some of the most "liked" liveries and decals contain Anime Girls with giant tits and small panties bending over to pick up their lost innocence, i think that stuff is safe.. for now

Regardless of whether it is most "liked" it is inappropriate considering the game is rated as 3. The rules are the rules and if they are being breached, content needs to be filtered and, for persistent breaches, accounts warned/banned.

Edit: it's a racing game, not a "looking at pornographic drawings" game. There are plenty of places you can do the latter.

hi, today i got a msg fom psn.

"On 28/1/18 your activity in Gran Turismo Sport was a breach of our Terms of Service.

Content of an adult or sexual nature is against our Code of Conduct."

WHAT happend here? i dont use any sexual skins or have any sexual content or language.

how and why i have got this msg?

I actually got this too over the weekend... I never use foul language and haven’t got any obscenities on my livery... could just be a hater who I pipped at the last corner haha

No it couldn't. Reports don't automatically result in sanctions against the person reported - indeed reports made for no reason result in sanctions against the person who submitted the report. And if you report too many people in too short a time (or the same person too often) you can also be sanctioned.

For you to get a message that you're in breach of the TOS, you're actually breaching the TOS.

hmmmm, I never got sanctioned it was merely a warning. I'm gonna disagree with you based on what I said. I have done nothing that I believe is in breach

That's the first sanction...
I'm gonna disagree with you based on what I said.
You'd be free to, but you'd be wrong. Reports are not automatically followed through with sanctions. They are manually investigated, and if found to be without merit the person who submitted the report is sanctioned. For you to get a warning, you have done something wrong.

Whether you believe it or not, for you to get a warning from PSN that you have breached the TOS, you have breached the TOS.

Look more carefully at what you were doing on the day the message refers to.

I don't use obsencities and I'm never patronising or rude to anybody. given the fact you're admin you obviously know a lot more than i do so I'll have to take your word for it

I don't use obsencities
As established earlier in this thread, you may not think that you do, but the PSN censor generally - and the GT one specifically - can be a bit weird, and words you think are innocuous may be classed as offensive. GT5/6 used to censor "LSD", so when someone was telling someone else their diff settings in Chat, the whole message would be censored. The same applied to the word "engine". There are other examples.

If you have changed your entry/end of race messages from the standard ones, check those. Check any messages you sent to other players. If you use different liveries, check the brand logos and any text on them. You may find that something you think is totally innocent is actually a horrifying racial slur in Vietnamese or something...

my intro is..... ''lets all race fair and try and reach S rating''

my end is ''thanks to everyone except the dirty drivers''

do you think the word dirty could have an impact?

Is there a way to get contact and ask for details? In the email and the psn msg is no hint for contact or a possibility to explain oneself.

i did email psn separately asking for specifics but heard nothing back yet. if its manually investigated as admin said, its a bit silly of them not to provide the evidence in order to prevent repeats. I've allegedly broken the rules and I have no idea how lol

Yes, this is just stupid really, it wouldn't be difficult to highlight what you did wrong.. If you don't know what you did wrong how on earth can you learn from your mistake and not repeat it, as will likely happen if you've done something that isn't obviously wrong.

Games with online content usually have some disclaimer which states that online interactions are not rated by the ESRB. Some also state that you need to be over 13 years of age to engage with said online interactions (don't remember if I saw either in GT Sport though).

It's presumably meant to cover text and voice chat but I don't see why it wouldn't also apply to other forms of expression such as liveries and decals. You may not l like them or find them appropriate but I don't think they should necessarily be banned for that reason.

Personally, I find it much more offensive when someone uses a shoddily assembled livery with ugly baby food colors because they ruin photo mode shots.

I'm just sad I can't call anyone a cockwomble on GTS. I might try willywomble from now on... :D

I love that saying. Light hearted put down but kind harsh at the same time. I got that from a football forum years ago and you are the only other person I have seen use it outside of said forum.

P.S willywomble doesn't have the same ring to it mate. Just no! ;)
