lol :D don't get me wrong though, codies makes some awesome racing games but, come on...this is the year of gt5! i will defintely be buying dirt 3 and grid 2 tho.

F1 2010 looks great and I will buy it.

I will also buy GT5. Thre's room for both because they are 2 very different games.

Plus, there's still more than month between both releases so that's plenty of time for Cody to rack up some sales wich I hope they do. It's been a long time since a good F1 game was made so I don't see why people who like racing here want them to fail on this...

The more, the better as far as I'm concerned.

F1:
Cars:
-F1 cars
GT5:
Cars:
-F1 cars
-Other cars beside F1
so... f1 has f1 cars and gt has f1 + other cars...
you know where im getting with this...

GT5 is going to be a deep deep game to relax inside of and with tons of things to do ..I think I even heard you can send emails from inside the game(?) GT5 is the deepest car lover game in history. F1 2010 is just an ordinary racing game, and the Life The Life crap is really just Live The Hype, and there is no love in it. Codemasters have a 'remember, its just a game' mentality through-and-through. Thats not always a bad thing, but its not what GT is about.

the Tracks are worth the money if you are an F1 fan becase gt5 will never get All of the tracks.

I had the game (preordered it) and sold it the same day I received it.

It has lots of bugs and some very bad failures in it's logic. (Codies are working on a patch already but I think it will be impossible to fix them all. They better start from scratch, no joke)

Furthermore the AI-times are calculated each lap and not driven in realtime. You get flat-tires every 5 laps and so on...

But the worst thing is the physics. This "driving-model" steers around an single (center-) axis. The worst racing game I ever had though the graphics look nice.

It's lightyears away from Gran Turismo.

In many cases, no, but in this case, its a good measurement.

How is it a good measurement in this case? F1 2010 has one focus, that's it, Formula 1. GT5 is all types of racing from different parts of the world. They both have their strengths, but I don't understand how people can say one is better than the other when one hasn't even been released yet.

Well tell me this, if you could have 1 and only 1, would u rather take F1 or GT5? F1 is ok game even for a F1 fan, let alone somebody like me who is a simply a car enthusiest.

👍

After watching Jenson and Lewis having hairy moments around Yeongam in qualifying, I found myself thinking..... pfff noobs. :sly:

I was actually surprised to see how different Korea looked in real life compared to the game, the pit exit for instance. There is also a section near the start of sector 3 that has a bridge in the game, but in real life, no bridge!

I was actually really surpirsed to see how deep the cars could go on the brakes in real life compared to the game too.

Can't answer that yet because GT5 isn't out, but it will probably be GT5. That doesn't prove this point though. The point is comparing games because of the number of cars. There are tons of parameters. You can't rate a game on just one feature.

Well lets see, even if F1 had perfect physics, amazing graphics, 1000 tracks and GT5 only had forza like physics, average graphics, and only 20 tracks, but still had all the cars, i would still take gt5. the 2 games are not in the same scale, its like comparing a professional sports team to a beer league team.

I have to say: GT5 is full of features that make the game 'bigger'. Yes its basically a driving/racing game but it is huge with features and details. Its meant to reach into the future and last a long time.

Now look at F1 2010: it is missing lots of basic features even within its own narrow focus. Yes its good in its small way ..like eating a candy bar. For me it lasted about 2 weeks. Just like Dirt2. Codemasters is first and foremost a maker of games, and decisions are made by committee. While GT is the brain child of a single man, and we all know his name. He's an obsessive person and has made a fortune around this ONE mission in life.

Just the fact that we know the name of the man behind GT tells you: this is a labor of love and intensity by a person, not a committee. Codemasters will always make good games, no doubt. But only good.

You need to go to the official GT5 website and see what is already included inside. Insane details like seeing displayed what is the actual time of day at a circuit in the main menu (like Prologue already did) but then you can choose to race that track WITH that time condition implemented ..dark, morning, noon, etc.etc.etc.
Just mad with details and features.

Yeah, but this is GT we are talking about and F1. Serisosly, did anyone ever played to at least "ok" F1 game? I had Formula 1 06 for PS2 and that was a horrible game, sold it in 3 days.
Ok, which else F1 games i can remember *checking gamefaqs*
Few on PSX, few on PS2, 2 on PSP. Nope, don't see any good ones. And new F1 for PS3 is the same old thing again.
I think only hardcore F1 fans will like it.

How good do you think other racing games would be if PD made other racing specific games? Do you think it would be a great idea or do you think that PD should just focus all efforts on anything GT?

I think if PD made an F1 specific game it would be incredible

F1 2010 isn't a sim though. PD and CM aren't trying to accomplish the same thing here. All I'm saying is you can't compare two games based on how many cars they have. You are mentioned all this other stuff that isn't part of the arguement.

For sure they could do well with any type of racing game.. no problem.

Tourist Trophy had a rider position view (2, actually) and you could easily play the game from those views. I have the current World Superbike games by Black Bean and you cant do squat from their crappy rider views. And TT was ps2 and the SBK games are a month old and for ps3! So yeah, PD has its act together. Big time.

AND-- TT had features! You could create a riding style all your own, and pan around the bike to see how it looked and change all kinds of details about just the riding style. Thats a perfect example of depth that Black Bean, Codemasters, or NFS will never have the time or talent for.

I mentioned all the other stuff to put the importance of GT5's car variability in perspective. Anyways, from what I hear, F1 wasn't a very well made game.

It looks great, it's obvious it wasn't in QC for more than about 3 minutes though, lol. There are lots of bugs, but I still think it's a pretty good game. For what an F1 game needs in terms of features, it's got it. A patch is supposed to be released soon which will get me back into it until GT5 gets released.

Tire punctures occur too often (both my rears blew in the last corner at Australia, sent me into the wall really hard)
AI times are fast in the rain
Game crashes........ALOT
Race results bugs (I finished ahead of a driver in one race, with no penalties, and the results showed he finished ahead of me)
The timing for the first lap of a race isn't right. The time starts when you cross the start line, not immediately on the green lights.
There's no split times showing time behind driver in front of you, or leader, you have to guess.
Game doesn't recognize multiple processor machines
No DX11 support directly (need to edit files)
Teammate will not pit if your team is expecting you, and your teammate will ultimately DNF
Corrupt file saves (mine corrupted after a research and development session)

That's just the start of it, there's alot of problems all over the place. There's piles of threads on the F1 CM forums. It's hard to play the game right now without the bugs affecting race results directly and drastically.

You are playing the PC Version no? Is the console version this buggy as well.

The tire puncture if done right would be cool.

I downloaded the demo for the previous game and wasn't to happy with the gameplay, it just didn't feel right.

Yes the console version has the same problems apart from
