While everyone was finding every excuse to hate GT4, I actually thought the Coffee Breaks were quite welcome. I don't know if I'd call them "coffee breaks," since I'm obviously not going to have a coffee mug with my name on it or the GT Logo (I don't have one, by the way) and drink some coffee after some hard racing. Of course, coffee breaks don't count towards your Gold/Silver/Bronze count, so don't be afraid if you don't do well. The good thing is that you can completely miss out on Silver and Gold, but still be able to advance to the rest of the License Tests.
No doubt they should return. I'd probably want to see all sorts of interesting cone challenges as well as maybe bring back one of GT1's license tests, in which you had a Subaru Impreza and you had to race around a specially-designed 100m oval, and you had to clear five laps. Perhaps a nice test would be about taking the front straight of Special Stage Route 11 (granted it will be in the game) and converting the straight into a slalom. The more you're able to get the car between the tall cones, the more you'll continue the test. For each cone gate you fail to cross, 5 seconds will be added to your time. Of course, whack a wall and it's over.
I'm sorry. I don't have any real ideas for any interesting Coffee Breaks, but they need to return. They can actually be quite fun and interesting.
