A few teams are getting their logos on Pop Tarts.

http://m.usatoday.com/article/sports/828176

Wondering if they will market the U of M ones in the Columbus Ohio area ? :dopey::lol:
If they did, they only people who would buy them would be the hunters ...... target practice. (J/K )
It does work both ways though. If there were Pop Tarts with O.S.U. being marketed in Ann Arbor, I'm certain they would still be on the shelf a year from now.

Ok, on to the serious end now ..... Coaches in the spotlight this year.

Several I can think of :

Bill O'brien - Penn State. Replacing Joe Pa, this guy will have his hands full, seriously. PSU facing serious sanctions against them, key players leaving the campus to play ball elsewhere. This team and this coach are heading for a big crash. What can O'Brien do ? Probably nothing, but sit back and watch a demise in progress. Sad for a team that has (well had) some good heritage backing them. Good luck Bill, wishing you well in your efforts at PSU.

Urban Meyer - Ohio State. Walks into a team with sanctions still looming over their head, but willing to take on a challenge. Rebuilding the Buckeyes will not come easy, especially following a dismal 6-7 record last year. Judging by his drafts and his demeanor, this team will go places. Not in '12, but '13 is going to be good, real good. 2012, the year for the Big 10 to take notes on the Bucks and prepare for '13. Go Meyer !!!

Rich Rodriguez - Arizona. One can only hope that he learned something while at Michigan in his 3 year tenure. His abortionized coaching led the U of M to some dismal years, sad, especially for yet another team with a rich history. Rich coached well, very well at W. VA.. Can he gain back his glory ridden days and keep Arkansas on the map ? Going to be interesting.

Lane Kiffen - USC. The sanctions are lifted out the So. Cal. team, now it's time to play ball. Can they ? They are ranked high in all the polls. Can they capture the PAC 10 title under Kiffen ? I think so. This is a very good and talented team. I feel we will hear a lot about them.

John Smith - Arkansas. First year coach with a talented team. Taking over the helm from Bobby Petrino (accident), I think he will do fine.

Dana Holgorsen - West Virginia. Things are looking up for the Mountaineers. Thinking they will be a serious contendor for the Big 12. This is another rich, talented team that is going to make some noise.

Same as the Carolina ones being sold here. They'd probably be thrown at their fans at the next home game.

All of my teams are in the top:

Oregon
Oklahoma
Stanford

Watch USC drop like a brick when the season starts, like always.

The Pac 10 is going to be good to watch this year.
I don't know Hawkeye122, I believe the Trojans are on a mission this year.

Indeed. He did well at W.V., but left us with probation and getting screwed out of a National Title spot in '08.

Damn sure hope so. The Geno Smith/Tavon Austin tandem is our best player tandem since White/Slaton back in '08. Will we get a #2 rating coming into the final week of the season? Who knows, but (it seems) Holgerson is the right man for the job.

Wasn't '08 the year you guys came to Greenville and lost 24-3?

Sorry, we just get one win over a top 10 team per decade (you guys were #8, I remember every moment of that day :D) and it's fun to reminisce. Sorry :).

The Pac 10/12 has been pretty good the past 2 or 3 years.

My JV Football coach once said "Your homework, on Saturday, is to watch the Stanford game, and the Oregon game. We run their offenses." We went 9-1.

I dont know. I always feel that "Oh, but THIS year USC will do it" and they always under-perform.

Boise State? Where did they go? They seem to be running out of steam.

Did I say '08? I meant '07.

2008 was our hangover year. Jarrett Brown was no Pat White (although Noel Devine was pretty close to Slaton though).

That was Chris Johnson's senior year, correct? He ran all over the place that day...

I may be wrong, but I was pretty sure White played the day we won? And no, Johnson had already graduated, the Hawaii Bowl against Boise State in '07 was his last game (the last time he touched the ball for East Carolina was a fumble that damn near lost us the game).

I think Boise has tanked in the rankings because the popularity contest doesn't want them anywhere near #2 come the first week of December, and they've gotten a little too close for the big boys' comfort recently.

If you can't tell, I hate the BCS.

Sometimes it's fun to reminisce. *hard cough* Buckeyes -vs- SEC. WTF :ouch:

They are still on the map (barely), Ranked into the 20's. Was a good team, now it's their turn in the barrel, I suppose. Cam may be on to something, Boise making too much noise for the big boys, let's move 'em down a few notches. They are getting to cozy up near the top

Yes, I hate the BCS as well Cam. At least we have a playoff system in the works. Let's hope it pans out.

PSSSST - new avatar. Go Urban, Go Bucks

Yes. He did, short term memory =P .
Slaton was gone, and Devine was a sophmore, and our defense was horrible that year.

White could've been an excellent WR in the NFL, but nope, he stayed at QB (and nearly got killed by Steelers CB Ike Taylor), and now is the UFL, which has suspended operations at the moment =P.

Edit: Go WVU, and John Denver...
=P

I remember Devine. I believe Sanders tore us a new rear end last time we played (2010?), before Smith was as heralded.

May as well do a regular season preview of my team (Fight On!)

Vs. Hawaii: Easy win, their offense (the only thing keeping the past games close) is screwed due to having to learn a whole new playbook.
At Syracuse: No challenge unless Nassib is this years RG3
At Stanford: Jetlag will be Stanford's only hope, Luck is gone
Vs. Cal: Moala may slow down the run game, but Barkley is enough to beat them
At Utah: This will be a close game, USC is unfamiliar with Utah but USC will still win
At Washington: Keith Price will keep this game closer than it really is.
Vs. Colorado: 1994 was 28 years ago
At Arizona: Mike Leach will help Arizona stay semi-close
Vs. Oregon: Donald won't be doing pushups in LA, shutout by the Men of Troy
Vs. Arizona State: They will dress up in their fancy clothing, showing us why we will never sell our souls for 4 star recruits
At UCLA: The last time we lost to them, our QB was named John David
Vs. Notre Dame: The Trojans could have the worst game of the season, but they would still win with the rabid crowd undoubtedly screaming themselves busted vocal cords

Not many words needed...

Penn State got what they deserved in my opinion. Everything Paterno worked to create over 50 years, completely destroyed by some astonishing and horrific decisions. What a farce it all was. There is no other conclusion in my mind.

This has nothing to do with the photo I posted CAM... Just saying.

You know, to be honest... I don't know what to expect for the University of Houston this season. I haven't really kept tabs on my beloved team. All I do know is that my kitties will pay a visit to East Carolina in our C-USA swan song before joining the Big East. I do still root on the Cougars regardless.

He should have absolutely been fired.

Yes, he should have. But he shouldn't be remembered as a bad person by everyone who doesn't follow football (and some who do), which is what is going to happen.

And John, I don't expect much, but we do have potential. It seems like a rebuilding year.

My review of our football schedule (Mountaineer football rules).

Marshall - Unless Chad Pennington and Randy Moss show up, it should be an easy win for my Mountaineers.

James Madison - No need for words.

Maryland - Not a bad team, but Geno is much better than O'Brien. I predict a three touchdown win.

Baylor - Sorry, RG3 is gone. Would you like Geno Smith? You can't have him. I expect a successful Big 12 opener.

@ #15 Texas - If Garrett Gilbert has the game of his life, it'll be close. WVU wins, but it's close.

@ Texas Tech - Mike Leach taught Holgerson well. This should repay the favor.

#22 Kansas State - Not too familiar with this team, but I expect a win.

#20 TCU - Andy Dalton is gone. Tank Carder is gone. Any questions?

@ #19 Oklahoma State - Oh, you had the Weeden-Blackmon combo last year? Well they are gone, and we have Smith-Austin combo this year. Oh, and we have your former OC Holgerson too.

#4 Oklahoma - I cannot wait for this game. It will be a shootout. Two Top 5 quarterbacks battling it out, and I have a feeling it will determine a spot in the National Title game. Landry Jones and Geno Smith will both have fantastic games. It will come down to who has the better defense.

@ Iowa State - As long as there is no Oklahoma State relapse from last year, we should be fine.

Kansas - Charlie Weis, your Luck of The Irish won't spread here.

Final Record - 11-1
Geno Smith - Heisman Finalist, Davey O'Brien WINNER
Tavon Austin - Kick Returner of the Year Finalist

I want WVU to be in the national title picture come time for that OU game, but I just don't get that vibe from them yet. I hope I'm wrong.

If this season plays out like 2007 (besides losing to THREE AND EIGHT PITT BEING RANKED #2 IN THE FINAL WEEK OF THE SEASON), I expect to see USC in the National Title Game.
