Wouldn't we all. And I guess we both have a point, the SEC at least has a contender this year. If only Texas didn't suck.

THE Texas University? They're not bad, David Ash is a pretty good QB.

 I'm not expecting them to be as bad as they have been, its just fun taking shots at the big boys ;).

Could there be a mid-major that could make some postseason noise for the BCS Bowls?

Sadly, no there isn't (at least for a major high ranking bowl game). There could be and should be, but the pollsters and the BCS rankings wont let the "little guy" near the big boys.

The BCS ...... college footballs worst enemy. :grumpy:

This season will be special for me as a college football fan because it was 2002 I first became a football fan. I got my first taste of college football in 2002. So this season will be ten years since first becoming a football fan. Should be another insane season of college football.

Plans finalized for Saturday. You know what can make me get up at 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning and leave the waterfront? ECU football. You know what else can? Nothing. Well maybe a fire. But that's it. Dedication.

We finally have a starting quarterback. Great job Ruffin, way to give him some time to gel with the offense... 👎 I'm still really excited for Saturday, I think Rio (our QB) can excel in our system.

Is he dual threat or pocket passer?

Dual threat, although Davis was supposed to be too. He couldn't break tackles or throw last year, so that backfired . Good thing is, #2 and 3 apparently were neck and neck with Johnson in the week before the depth chart was released.

Someone please tell me the one off Notre Dame uniforms that are circling online are just a nightmarish horrid dream and I'll wake up soon. They are absolutely unequivocally horrific. Does the Pope know this is happening? Please stop this your holiness...

McKayla got it right...

One day away, folks! College football's coming back! You psyched yet? By the way... I am not really offended by the Notre Dame uniforms. I just hope they make more noise on the field for winning and not so much for their outfits, much like last year's Maryland Terrapins. I still consider their loss at North Carolina State to be one of the biggest epic fails of last season. They led by a good margin before NCSU came back to finish strong and whack the Terps.

But let me say again- one day away. No NFL this weekend except for the Preseason action. This means college can rule the American football landscape before the pros have their season start.

I'd venture to say in many places college is more important, at least I know it is to me. I think in the South college is more important (predominantly) and in the North its the NFL. Mostly because that's where the better teams are.

Is that leopard print on the left side of that helmet?

Tomorrow night the Big 10 goes into action. It will be the Minnesota Golden Gophers going on the road against the Rebels of UNLV. Not real sure who will win this one, but I'll go with Minnesota, I guess, only because they are in the Big 10 . I don't know a whole heck of a lot about the Rebels this year, who knows, maybe they will win at home 💡

Well it's never to early to talk Heisman hopefuls is it ? NAH,

Who will your eyes be on this year ? I have a few, off the top of my head picks.

Monte Ball - running back - Wisconsin
Denard Robinson - quarterback - Michigan
Geno Smith - quarterback - West Virginia (deathsinbunches should like this pick) :sly:

HOWEVER .....

My eyes will be on Matt Barkley - quarterback - USC Trojans. The guy is the real deal, and with the receiving corps. he has to accompany him (probably the best in the NCAA, IMO), this guy will be fun to watch. I personally think this guy goes all the way, and caps off his career at USC with a National Championship.

Meh...they won't let him win it anyway...if he gets the Big 12 POY and a trip to the National Title game, i'll be just fine.

If he goes undefeated and has comparable stats with Jones and Barkley, he'll win, I assure you.

Ah yeah, Jones is another good candidate. I agree, if he (Geno) can post a winning season and put up some good stats to go with it, he will be in the running. That's why I pulled his name out. I think W. VA will be a team to watch this year.

A few of our backup receivers have been suspended for the App State game. Not unusual, we always have a few idiots that can't control themselves in the ghetto, but its always seems to be a star player (i.e. starting running back a couple years back, when we actually ran the ball). So its nice for it to not be so tolling this time. 2 days!

Can't wait! A long Summer is over, and it's time to get back to football. I'm actually a good bit interested into the North Carolina State vs. Tennessee matchup.

My beloved UH Cougars will take on the Bobcats of Texas State here in Houston to start their season. Good luck to all of your team(s) as the new season gets underway this weekend!

Tennessee v. State will probably bore me out of my mind (now that I say that the score will be 201-200 in 27 overtimes spanning the course of two days ). I'm gonna venture to say with all State's returning talent, they'll win. But maybe not by as much as they're supposed to.

Hopefully all homework will be finished before South Carolina comes on, gotta scope out some competition.

If Geno can throw games against Oklahoma and K State like he did vs. LSU last year (400+ Yards against a superior LSU D...would've won, but damn Tyrann Mathieu was a freaking ball hawk), he should be a lock for Big 12 POY and a Heisman finalist.

South Carolina sucks as of now. But they also spotted us a 17-0 lead in the first quarter last year and still tore us a new rear end after that, so I expect nothing less than a big win for SC after they get past this 1st quarter.

And South Carolina needs to win, I'm gonna be pissed if our one game against a top ten team gets messed up a week beforehand.

If ECU wasn't playing SC next week, this game would be 63-0 and there'd be blood on the field from where Clowney was breaking people in half on his way to Jordan Rodgers. But, naturally, when we get a shot at top 10 team they choke immediately before. :(

I meant to ask you in my previous post, but it slipped my mind. :dunce:

What exactly happened down there ?

We aren't sure (details haven't been released), but to give you some idea of recent shenanigans had by our players, we've had: attempted assaulted with a broken beer bottle, gang violence, and illicit drug charges, cocaine if I remember correctly.

I'm guessing since we don't know and its only one game, its probably not a huge deal.

If Carolina screws this up, I will join Spurrier in an rousing visor-chucking.

Lattimore isn't gonna win anyway, I can pretty much go ahead and tell you that. If he's sucking this bad against Vanderbilt, the real SEC will tear him in half like a Pop Warner back.

That last run was the first one worth a crap I've seen all night.

:ouch: :ouch: and more :ouch:. As details unfold, it could get ugly ..... pending the circumstances.

Hey, at least they were not selling memorabilia in exchange for tatoos.

Shades of ...... well you know the story.
