I dont see why Americans have spotters, you should be in control of the car and you should be using your mirrors at all times to see your opponents, not have someone do it for you.

Yeah because you can see the debris on the track around the next blind corner in your mirror. :dunce:
It could save someone's life.

Commentary in racing games is always terrible and probably always will be. As wide-open and varied as GT is it would probably be completely ridiculous. It's generally poor in any game, but tends to work a little better for more "standard" sports. Still usually too repetitive, late and often random. It's really only best for the silly and or completely inappropriate things they say, and/or goofy memes.

"Just a bit of a knock on the wall there, I think." "You're right there, Murray."

Got to love Formula 1 97 Championship Edition.

"Its Michael Schumacher!"

And here's one from MLB 11 upon getting the 2ND OUT in a championship game.

"AND THAT'S THE FINAL OUT! THEY HAVE WON THE WORLD SERIES" (as they play one more out for fun).

Surprised that didn't take at least a little longer for someone to pick up on. 👍

LOVED that game back in the day. That MLB 11 one is pretty hilarious too. I don't do baseball that much, so all I remember is an old ESPN baseball game. EVERY home run: "back back back, gone!" and EVERY SINGLE strikeout: "the whiff." God that got annoying.

It would only be necessary for oval racing.

I don't see why this is relevant. Since I've met and known spotters from all over the world who speak multiple languages and can gather that they don't all work specifically in america.

Infact. I know for a fact that theres at least one spotter who works Lemans on the Flying Lizard team. So its not ONLY Americans and your post hasn't a relevant sentence in it.

Edit: Forgot to type what I was going to say, lol

I would too rather have a spotter. But I don't see anything wrong with commentary as long as it makes sense. Some of the NHL games had pretty good commentary. One night a pizza guy was confused at how two teams were playing, when he was a hockey fan and knew there was no games on that night.

Like safety car periods for invisible Frenchmen running across the track.

The epic tales of Jacques Debris and the motor racing circuit will never cease.
