Yesterday I test drove the 2002 Civic SI and I must say that I was impressed with it....not that I was surprised, but it really handled well and since it has the same powerplant as the 99-00 Civic SI you know that this thing has balls.

I want to know if anybody else has had the oppurtunity to test drive the 2002 SI...if not you get yourself to your nearest Honda dealer and do so....I want to know what other automotive enthusiasts think of it and see if i'm not the only one who really admires this car....Thanks!

Ummm...The new Si has a 2.0L i-vtec engine. Are you sure you drove this car?;)

Perhaps to compensate, Honda has fitted the Si with the most powerful engine ever found in a production Civic. Displacing 2.0 liters, this four-cylinder engine is from Honda's new family of i-VTEC engines. i-VTEC refers to Honda's latest version of its Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. In addition to what VTEC normally does — adjusting the lift and opening duration of the valves to help the engine produce additional power throughout the rpm band — i-VTEC adds Variable Timing Control (VTC). VTC continuously advances or retards the intake camshaft phasing throughout a 50-degree range. Not sure what that means? Don't worry. The bottom line is that VTC optimizes engine output and allows the Si to meet the strict 2004 LEV-II emission standards.

Yeah, I did just say that. :p

I'd actually like a few more choices in the hot hatch category here in the States. The few we have are okay (Focus ZX3, Golf GTI, Civic Si) But come on, where are the rest of them?

Sorry...just find that funny. :D

 Yeah, conjures up an interesting mental image, don't it?

-As for the car-

I'm not so sure about the '02 Odyssey...er, I mean Civic Si. :p Torque is nice, but that's not why you buy a Honda. Sis are supposed to be high-strung scream machines, IMHO.

Actually, that's not what I was referring to. That's funny too, though!

I was referring to the 'SI having balls (aka power)' claim. :)

Check out this one ;)

went to honda US site to look at this car, but you have to reg  and I couldn't be arsed

Does this SI model mean you don't get the
Civic Type R

(6speed box i-VTEC, DOHC, 197bhp, 200PS, 146MPH)
over in the US?

I can see what you are trying to do StevieMo (you liked the CRX DelSol didn't you) but that looks more like a crunched pickup.

looked like a red version of the one on the fast and da stupd ;) Now that's alotta custom work!! As for that last civic pic, the bad silver one, yea, that won't make it to the states, LOL. I have to admit I actually like the new hatch-civic look in that particular picture. (I think the econo version is kinda ugly)

I also agree, the oddysee, (however you wanna spell it), is the only way to go for a minivan. You guys seen those suckers pimped out, they're bad! (best looking mini- in stock form too, IMO)

definetly doesn't look like a civic anymore. going towards a spacey, rocketship kind of econo look, hehe. (with the hatchbakc anywho) IMO ;)

What's that supposed to mean? :D

Did my first real 0-60 hard sprint this morning - hubba hubba, I wish I had a stopwatch...easily less than 6 seconds. She' turned all four tires over about 3 times, squatted and lurched so hard I nearly lost my grip on the shifter.

Say, can I have your old turbo when you upgrade? :D

[begins scheming....putters off in search of a toolbox]

Sure, I'll give you first dibs when that time comes. Unfortunately, I have no plans to upgrade the turbo for a long, long time. :)
