That's odd. Well, something to add to the changelog, anyway!

I would like corroboration of this one, though, both on when it was introduced and on what tracks it becomes an issue.

Anyone know?

One of my WRS compatriots suggested that if I wait a few seconds then it will load the ghost. Suggest you hold off putting it in the log for now.

EDIT: seems that there is a confirmed need to wait approx. 15 seconds before trying to load a ghost replay and that this was initiated by the 2.02 update. Thanks

the lights on the ferrari f2007 steering wheel have been changed in when they light up. The large yellow light comes on first either at or after 18000 rpm, the smaller light comes on while the larger light stays on at 19000 and the red light must come on after the limiter is reached as i cannot get it to come on by bouncing off the limiter. personally i prefer the older system.

edit: first light comes on at 18500 rpm.

Hey, sorry for the delay in responding to the last three posts.

I'll be back again tomorrow to make any changes from these posts, as well as any more made overnight.

Thanks again to everyone!

Not sure if this has been mentioned (didn't see it anywhere) or if this came about in a earlier update but..

I noticed now we have the option for magnification X2 (high res) in replay photomode, previously it was limited to X1 within replays. X2 was only enabled in photolocations.

Improvements were made to lighting and shadowing.
Grass was made to appear more realistic.
Crash sound effects sound somewhat more realistic.

Not in my game!

But cars are better to drive now with DS3, its sort of like its more linear and turn in is much better, all cars used to feel biased to understeer but now they are neutral if not biased toward oversteer!

You should always calibrate your pedals after the game starts up by fully depressing and releasing them. When you start the game your wheel spins to calibrate itself but there's no way to self-calibrate the pedals. After your wheel spins, press all the pedals all the way and you'll have no more issues with your brakes. This isn't a new feature, been this way since day one. 👍

Nope you have to do it after a race starts to make any difference. I usually do it on turn one. It doesn't even work if you cycle the brake pedal 1 second before you have control of the car. But yeah - it's not new.

^ I don't think that's right. I do it right after my wheel spins on start up and it always fixes it. On occasion I forget and I can tell as soon as I get to the first turn, so I know my normal method works.

I can confirm that 3D was improved. Now there no longer need for separate internal/external view settings. Also in track pop-up (3D effect) was optimized - now it's more natural. Also I think that performance in 3D seems improved. I no longer feel tearing in 3D. (or at least it's less noticable). Now I play only in 3D because it's easer to drive...

My recommended settings: Parallax: 8-10, 3D depth: 0.65-0.75. (just try it!)

Also for 3D users I recommend plug DS3 to PS3 via usb cable - it reduces input lag (which is far more noticable in 3D, and it just really helps!)

Came with Spec 2 bro.

Issue maybe? Hope this is the right place to post

Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12
No torque speed reduction when downshifting at full revs i.e. from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. The only elements reducing speed are elevation and direction changes...as if the car is in a neutral gear. If you go back up to your original gear engine torque starts to reduce speed.

I tried this in the Nissan GT-R SpecV '09 and torque reduced speed much more dramatically on the initial down-change i.e. the engine wanted to slow the car down.

Hmm I think I came across an issue when going back to the garage, before when you were in a car it would always default to show you the car based on it's sort settings, now it just starts at the top of the list, sigh:banghead:. I don't like this change at all, now I have to use sort to switch get to the area where my car is, since I tend to keep cars with the same PP close to one another makes it easy to select for different races.

Still putting on new shoes on my vast collection of cars:D, these wheels make these cars look so much more attractive in replays, ooo whee.

EDIT: seems like wheels for standards are defaulted to mainly those available to mostly Japanese cars, the American cars you don't get the American wheel set to choose from. PD this needs fixing, the PDI wheels should be available to all the American standard cars especially the muscle cars. I checked with a few different cars but standards all choose from the same wheel set, the premiums have differing choices per car model.

Bump.

Has anyone mentioned that the animation for the cars entering and exiting their pit stalls on pit road are different?

In german discription of the Golf VI R is wrote, that the earlier Golf R32 consumed 999,0l/100km and the new Golf VI R consumes now 20 % less - so only ~800l/100km!

(So after ~5 kilometers the fuel was empty at the R32. hahaha)

Don't know if that's the case in other GT5 versions too ...!?

Very, very sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys. As you can guess, this time of year can be rather busy :)

So, let's get on with it!

Good to know, and glad I held off :)

Thanks, will add!

Paints now load faster as you scroll through in GTauto

Great addition, thanks!

That solves that problem :)

You don't think that the shadows are less blocky this time around? I think that even when sitting still there's a huge difference.

The grass suggestion was my own doing; if I remember correctly, in previous versions there were fewer patches of grass actually coming out of the ground. I noticed this first and foremost on the High Speed Ring.

About the sound effects; what kind of sound system are you using? I notice very small differences in these categories on my TV's speakers, and greater differences than mine have been reported on high quality surround sound systems.

But what do I know? :sly: If other people report the same lack of improvements, I'll remove them.

And I'll add your DS3 improvement to the list, as well. Thanks!

What wheels are you guys using? I have a G27, and I've never needed to do anything to get the proper response from the pedals. I can also confirm that when starting from a stand-still, modulating the throttle will produce the expected response on screen.

I don't know if this is an issue. To my understanding of this, cars with semi-auto gearboxes like the one in the GT-R sometimes won't engage the lower gear immediately if you shift down and you're bouncing off the redline. This would explain the lack of engine braking.

If anything, I'd say this might be an issue with the SpecV, unless of course the computers managing the transmissions on these two cars in real life are different. I'll hold off on adding this until we hear from someone who knows what they're talking about more than I do :D

I think that's covered by "Also revised the entry route during pit stops and speed judgement." 👍

Thanks for the confirmation, though!

I've just experienced this sound bug.

Custom Eifel track
Alfa Romeo Brera

Wow, that's bizarre! Adding, thanks!

 Almost as much as the Bugatti Veyron :P::eek:

Ahahaha!

I can confirm that this is NOT in the American version, probably because of the different unit of measure for fuel consumption: "Fuel economy had also been improved by 20 percent at 29.0 MPG..."

Can we have a pic for verification? Thanks!

The Alfa 155 2.5 V6 DTM car backfires now, like it did in GT 4 and like it really did!!! Glad they got it right. Now the 155 is my überfavourite car in GT5!

All cars with anything other than stock mufflers will back fire now, and the bigger the displacement the larger the flame, looks incredible to boot. shaping up. Hope they illuminate the rear of the car, time to go test the night lighting.

I use a G27 too. It doesn't really happen on the throttle because you usually floor it first thing. Here's what happens with the brake pedal, if the first time you press it is only 50% of the full throw then the game registers that as 100% input. From then on pushing the pedal 50% applies 100% braking. This can be confirmed by the onscreen brake input display, but it's been like this since the game came out because there's no way for the console to physically depress the pedals like it can spin the wheel. Pressing the pedals all the way down any time before the race starts will resolve the issue.

Indeed, it has always been like that and it is just calibration. I personally always [by habit now] press the pedals before the race starts so I don't get any suprises come first corner.

Also Calibrating the pedals is only required once unless the wheel was disconnected or PS3 restarted.

The cockipit view is more steady... No more 'Parkinson like' shaking. Did anyone else noticed it?

Yesir now i am going back to racing and drifting in the cockpit view

Photomode update here:
When adjusting camera settings (while aiming the camera), if you change the filter, the environment will stay in that filter when you exit the aiming mode and walk around. Very useful when trying to get around low-res reflections.

Yes we can: :D
... " Benzinverbrauch von 999l/100 km " ...

I'm glad to drive an Skoda Fabia, not an Golf.
But i'm sorry for my father, his normal Golf surely needs around 600l/100 km.

Btw.: I saw those red lines on the track before and after the carrousel at Nordschleife too.
First i thought i have problems with my eays or hallucinations ... ^^

"Under certain circumstances, the track map is made thicker."

Can anyone explain this?

If you display the full map on screen it now appears thicker. Try driving the Nurb. I haven't driven on a short track since the update so I can't confirm them but definitely on the longer tracks the map is thicker making it easier to read.
