"Turning using a DualShock 3 has been adjusted"
what is that suppose to mean? i couldn't' tell a deference

The feel is much better, the cars turn in better and feel altogether more lively instead of the understeer bias it used to have.
My guess is they recalibrated the sensitivity and coupled with new physics and tyre wear it feels much better.

Is anyone else having trouble matching their fastest lap times since update?
I seem to be over a second slower around spa in general on racing soft tyres 500pp cars???

*snip*
Crash sound effects sound somewhat more realistic.
Grass was made to appear more realistic.
Improvements were made to lighting and shadowing.
*snip*

Has this been confirmed by A/B comparison (videos?).
So far I haven't noticed any real difference on this front.

exactly what i said, still seems same to me, go in car view on suzuka to see bad shadow jaggies too!

The "suggested gear indicator" now works with cars that have only 1 gear.
(Karts, Prius, iMiev, GTbyCitrёn)

It flashes "D" when going too fast in a corner.

Indeed. To my eyes this doesn't seem any less jaggy to me than before.

Maybe it is a good idea to add some of this to an "unconfirmed" list and only add confirmed changes to the real list?

Already mentioned but car shadows in replays are greatly improved. Now I can watch replays and not being annoyed by very jaggy shadows under cars. You can see it on Eiger track (unwatchable before). Sadly interior shadows not improved.

That would be down to the different tyre wear no i suppose?

Could i add that when finishing a seasonal event you aren't redirected to your home anymore but you stay in the selection screen of the seasonal events, wich makes life easier as you have to press less buttons to get back to them, or am i too stoned tonight and it was like that before? :)

Indeed, it has always been like that and it is just calibration. I personally always [by habit now] press the pedals before the race starts so I don't get any suprises come first corner.

Also Calibrating the pedals is only required once unless the wheel was disconnected or PS3 restarted.

Yes, it has always been like this and I believe every wheel is like this. I can confirm that it is even like that on PC, you have to press them fully to calibrate after each time you connect it to device (note that on PS3 wheel calibrates every time you start/quit a game, so you have to do that every time wheel calibrates).

This one up for the changelog? used cars are always washed now after buying them from the dealer. (makes sense no, would you wash your car if you sold it?)

It was included in the Spec 2 update.
The log in bonus bug that made you lose the bonus if you disconnected from the PSN while playing the game appears to be fixed. But I don't know if it was now or in 2.01. Can anyone confirm?

How come they don't change the damn oil along with that wash?

NOTE!!!

Before you go doing an engine refresh, first change the oil. The new stat sheet might make you think that you need an engine rebuild when it's only necessary for an oil change 250cr versus 5,000-500,000cr mistake. Oil change first then check for engine refresh and check your stats that way.

"World" shadows has been improved (shadow LOD). Take Eiger for example and look for people. Same goes for replays. They are stunning now almost as were in Prologue. However it's very sad that interior or car self-shadows are not improved.

But cars are better to drive now with DS3, its sort of like its more linear and turn in is much better, all cars used to feel biased to understeer but now they are neutral if not biased toward oversteer!

I agree the game is now less understeery with a controller. (I've used a sixaxis for a month now and after 2.02 I noticed the chance right away).

Would you change the oil before you sold a car just because you were selling it?

Yes I would, because I like to be treated as well as I treat others. Have you ever purchased a used car? They have oil changes and tires are checked and well it is supposed to be a courtesy to have one done. Heck the two cars I bought used both had this done, one was a 2004 Corolla and the other was a 2006 330xi. Brand new oil in both, I don't see the problem there.

Possible physics change? Me and a few people have reported seeing wheelies online, especially in drag racing rooms.

Well I haven't bought cars, I'm 14 gears old, but from seeing parents buy used cars, nobody changes the oil unless it was bought from a dealer. But individual people don't.

So I suppose being that in GT5 the used cars come from a dealer, it would make sense. I didn't think that one through.

I am not sure if this is a 2.02 change but until Spec 2.0 the bug was there. The Alfa 155 Race car with the 4 huge exhausts never backfired.....now it shoots huge flames

I think it would be helpful to be specific with the sound changes,

Exhaust note on "titanium racing" option has a far more aggressive sound. I don't personally like it, but maybe its more realistic.

When looking left and right in cabin, the HDR lighting does not reset from bright back to normal - it stays at normal if that makes any sense

No problem, we are all here to learn and put that knowledge to use. GT5 is a bit oddball with the used cars as it comes from a dealership but they only wash it and send you on your way. Might as well put sugar in the tank too, oil as black as hell depending on mileage.

No bug, all cars back fire when it has anything but a stock exhaust, size of back fire depends on engine size and when you down shifted. Or upshifted for those using clutch with wheel.

In my life time I've bought 4 used cars, and every one of them has needed an oil change. It's the first thing I do when I get them home. Also 3 of them needed new tires right away.

Talking about oil, i tought the oil change in GT just renewed the oil, but did not realise the oil in GT auto is high performance, so even if you buy a new car changing the oil will provide you with an average of 10HP (sometimes even 20-30HP) more performance!

155 is a Touring race car. It has stock exhaust it should fire but it didnt until now. It was a bug.

And not all cars with Titanium race exhaust backfire :ill:

Thank you for the clarification.

I noticed this with a wheel (G25), too. I think it's a general improvement; the car feels more "alive" in general.

I don't know how new it is but the Ferrari F1 cars' lights come on in the wet. I don't think that's always been the case but I'm not sure.
