Let's discuss different cars between 500-600PP and where you like driving them. I've been messin' with a Lexus LFA lately, trying to find something that handles (close-to) as well as the BMW CSL. Track wise, I'm a fan of the Nurburgring.

Many different tuners with different ideas. I've seen some tunes (LFA) in which no weight is reduced, with extra added.

Help! I've been testing different cars around the 500-600PP range, just curious to hear everyone's opinion.

What is your favorite 500-600PP car and for what track*?

Also- Can somebody please link me to this "550PP Nurburgring in 6:30" challenge thread I've read about?

*If willing to share your tune, also appreciated. :sly:

Uh, you're gonna be searching for a long time my friend. The CSL is the best handling car in the last 2 Gran Turismo games

Hello.I and compared to many cars of 500 to 600 pr...
575-600 PR (for me the best):
-AUDI R8 (4x4)
-LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO LP Superveloce (4x4)
-FERRARI 458 Italia (mctt)
-LEXUS LFA (mdtt)

515 PR (same settings and pr): (THE BEST TIME OF THESE 3 CARS)
1ºHONDA NSX 02
2ºHONDA S2000 06
3ºBMW M3 GTR 03

Isn't the M3 GTR the same handling as the M3 CSL? also you refering to the 04 model?

I recently discovered (courtesy of Praiano's) 1966 Jaguar racecar tune for 600pp, and I destroyed all competition online , several times, by a margin of 10s or better, lapping the Nur in approx 6:08s. It can also be used as a 585 - 625 pp destroyer.

555pp, I enjoy Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 for many wins. (courtesy of Mad FinnTuners)

450-500-505 pp, I need to discover some cars to enjoy competitve wins with.
So far, I very much admire the new DLC Touring Cars, the Honda CRZ TC handles like a go-kart on rails.

at 550pp; I also discovered the EVO X TC, no LSD, and no Torque sensor needed, it is fast at 6:19s at 550pp.

I also stumbled upon a league of French Canadians winning with the FTO (Mitsubishi) Super Touring car, but also at 600pp.

700pp, my GTR35 TC obliterates anything at 700pp., sub 6:00 laptimes even through the chaotic start.

The LFA is fast, but I am determined to tune different cars to give it a run for its money.

It's an '03 or '04, not exactly sure. They are very similar and both handle superbly but I think the CSL is a tad more balanced that the GTR

My favourite three 600pp cars are the Buick Special, Holden Monaro and the Ferrari California. They all need good tunes to run well, but once they do they run fast.

The CSL and M3GTR are good cars out of the box but there are plenty of cars just as fast if you can tune them. I think the reason they are as popular is because they don't require a lot of tuning work to be fast.

In my opinion, the best handling car I've found at 550pp is the Audi R8 4.2. Not sure if it's my tune or the car in general, but it's almost impossible to kick the back end out and it turns in like a racecar with 35 downforce at the front. It's pummelled many a BMW into submission on Deep Forest and Trial Mountain.

I'm not going to disagree with you about the Audi, it is a great car. But the fact you need a good tune and downforce at the front to make it handle as good as the CSL is exactly why it's the best in the game.

Tuning the CSL makes it the best, IMO, in the game. You do need to know what you are doing, or at least get an excellent tune from the garage. I've used basically the same tune for it since GT4 and I noticed that it's about the same as the RKM tune.

Just like BMW's in real life, there are a lot of cars that are faster. There aren't many that in the same price range or that feel as balanced

Care to share that r8 tune mate?

The PP system is nothing but a joke. Between 500 to 600 you'll have a limited amount of cars to run. And you named the two cars that will win most of the time. I can't believe I just typed that "Cars winning" Sorry it should be drivers. Plus there aren't to many drivers running the PP system only gamers.

The PP system may be a joke, but it's all we've been given. For races between my mates and I, we usually place restrictions on power, weight and drivetrain. I only tend to adhere to PP when it comes to Events hosted in the Tuning Forum...

{Cy}

PS - Not sure which two cars you're talking about..??

EDIT:

Thanks mate, I will try these tonite

You won't be disappointed, let me know how you get on...

There are plenty of Cars that are doing great at that PP-Range. But if you want to win then you have to stick to a few "dominant"-Cars.
That is a shame.
Everybody uses NSX-TypeR´s, Mugen/Spoon/Amuse/Honda S2k´s, M3´s or Elises (plus some I forgot).
They handle extremely well.

But here are some of my suggestions:
Toyota FT-86 Concept
"G-sport
Trial Celica (but better suited in the 480-500 pp Range)
Ford Focus RS
Lancer Evo VII RS
Eclipse GT ´05
Suzuki Concept S2 (superb sound with Racing Exhaust but maxxed it is at 493pp)

CyKosis1973

Also with the number of PP rooms on the severs it's hard not to run the PP system. I guess there aren't to many people willing to put their driving skills to the test besides their cars. Any how I'm still going to have a good time aswell having that little reminder.

Well said. Lets share some tunes...

  • NSX Type R - 500PP, It was a dominant car before SPEC 2, now just very good.
  • NISMO Fairlady Z Z-tune - 500 to 550PP, best car IMHO. Can beat any 540PP car.
  • AUDI R8 - 550 to 600PP, good but not great.
  • Chrysler 300C - 600PP big track, I have seen one that could run with the better 600PP cars. It's all tune I think.
  • Corvette Z06 - 590 to 600PP, good car.
  • 458 Italia - 580 to 600PP, 7 speed and low CG makes this car hard to beat.

PP system in tandem with tuning prohibited. 👍:)
edit: anything under 450 PP should be running comfort softs or less.

The Murc. SV handling is horrible!

Also- Can somebody please link me to this "550PP Nurburgring in 6:30" challenge thread I've read about?

Wallbanger's Ring Masters Challenge
F) Any 550PP road car able to beat a time online of 6:35.000 (Special rules; No race cars or race modified cars. Tuner cars are allowed provided they are classified as road cars and not custom competition cars. This challenge must be completed in an online lobby so a second person must witness and verify the lap to certify the time.)

I am very consistent at 505pp, using a Lotus Evora , and the stock Suspension is a godsend on this car. Try LSD 42/9/8. In a 12 ~ 16 player Nur race, you can come in 1st to 3rd in almost every [edit - clean] race, in 6:5x. Note, 0 front toe and no camber. This car can even beatup many 550pp cars.

Worthy competitors at this 505 pp, is the (classic)Lambo Miura, C12 , 350Z , Korean Ollum Motors V8 car.

to win at this PP, you need a car that can accellerate on the long uphill climbs of this track. If you have a car that bogs at lower speeds, try another. (Hint, make sure you have intake and exhaust manifolds at the very least of your upgrades)

Some rooms don't allow for LFA, NSX-R, or concept cars, in street racing. I hope PD releases new DLC that can offer more competing variants to these.
