I thought I was lucky getting back in when it happened the first time... then I went again. I couldn't even write anything in the chat box either ¬_¬

You never know, I think next week will be very unpredictable. Short fast circuit that's thin with lots of oppourtunities to make mistakes, should be fun.

Hi finally found the forums at last.
Joined in tonights race at the Eiger and was doing great for the first lap,I actually got into the lead for 3 seconds and.....like most of the eiger it all went downhill from there.
Still I wasnt last and that in my first ever online Kart GP wasnt bad.
I need some tips tho for the Eiger cos I found that im losing a second on the leaders each lap and im assuming its on the s bends as I cant seem to find a good line through them at any decent pace or im spinning out.
I wouldnt call these races endurance races though Id simply call them grand prix.
Im looking forward to the next one though i dont think ive done much racing on the autumn ring mini reverse?
I notice that the season could do with a bit of expansion as i think theres room for a few more races.
One thing about the last race you got listed at
Nurburgring Nordschleife

I think it would be best done on the 24 hour version of that track,not because its longer(its over 15 miles in total) but because the first section is on the grand p[rix circuit before you head out into the country,the grand prix section is an early part of the track where you can thin the field out a bit,so that it doesnt get too crowded on the main section.This would also mean 8 laps at 13 minutes a lap with a pitstop after 3 laps i think to refuel.

Anyway enjoyed my first race and hopefully will do the same in the second without upsetting too many people.

I see what you mean about endurance and GP but for the size of a kart and the normal length of kart races we considered it endurance but now that you mention GP does seem to fit in better.
GP Endurance Kart Championship

I think we will have Nordschleife 24h 6 laps because those first bends on the normal track would've caused a large amount of accidents for a possible championship decider. This will be longer than most because it is the final weekend and it's a proper test of these karts.

You were unlucky at the start but I guess this helped in avoiding the first corner carnage.
Autumn Ring Mini Reverse will be fun and you can probably get some decent points there!

for Eiger's S bends focus on taking as much speed out of the corner as possible, hit the apex every time but go wide at turn 2 to get the power down earlier.

Took a good run at the Eiger and got a 1min 18.343 which is a second improvement on what i did in the race.


Been practicing on autumn ring mini and the best i can get is 40.107.Im wondering how that compares with you guys cos im sure that 39 something is possible.

Autumn Ring Mini Reverse is now 50 laps
Autumn Ring is now 30 laps
Autumn Ring Mini is now 100 laps (not as drastic
as it sounds, 45 mins something like that)

39's are possible but I find setting a single lap on this circuit very difficult but over the course of a race I'm fine. It's really hard to eek out that last tenth of a second because there are only a few places where you can make a difference and as it is such a short track everyone's times will be really close together. It will be interesting that is for certain and overtaking isn't so easy here too.
 
From now on I will be setting up a practice lobby for everyone to meet up. It will be open on fridays at GMT 4pm until about 7ish. People who aren't in the league may also be there but there won't be any races just testing.
 
Finally broke the 40 seconds on the autumn ring mini reverse 39.935.

The killer on that track isa the last two corners and being uphill if you lose momentum youlose your race time right there.

The guys in practice yesterday got it to below 39 seconds which looks amazing but looking at the video they were boosting one another bumper to bumper thereby increasing speed so those times are a wee bit misleading.

Also just a reminder to read fully the 1.06 update as there are some very handy additions in the patch.
 
I'm not in the lobby right now because at first my PS3 froze due to a flood of messages of people asking lobby we were in. The next time my internet broke. After that I was Kicked by PETE-H-1976 and this meant I wouldn't be able to rejoin the lobby. I turned the ps3 off and then the internet died again. Internet is up now but PSN isn't. :(
 
These last couple of hours have been pretty much a nightmare organising rooms that don't work, bad internet (others have had this too) abusive messages from cheechdog2 because he doesn't understand that you have to sign up for this league even though I've told him and my PS3 freezes everytime I try to send a message when I briefly get online.

Let's hope things improve for next week

this is unfair. my fuel tank was almost empty. in the endurance races the cars stop many times. i thought i had to stop. i was the second. i stop but i was the only. nobody stop!!!!
i finished 4. nobody said me i didnt had to stop... congratulstions matzomat but i repeat. this is unfair

From what I've heard you didn't have to stop so it's not unfair but just from what I heard.

First of all apologies to galahad I was convinced he shunted me off when i was in second place.ive sinc elooked at the video and it looks a plain and simple spin out with too much power.....my mistake.


But on his above statement.
I havent read any rules about having to take a pitstop.
Its a simple thing,you look at your fuel tank and you judge it as to whether you will need to stop and nothing says that you had to.Looked like a bit of panic with the fuel levels to me I have to say.
You know what they say.......you live and learn,but sometimes the hard way.

However I got a creditable 3rd place and was very consistent all the way through the race...the couple of hiccups done me,but i think im satisfied with that outcome.

Well done to all who took part and congrats to the winner.

Saturday 26th Feburary Suzuka Circuit 12 laps I see we only got 12 laps on Suzuka and its a 3 mile track.

Bearing in mind we had 53 laps on the mini ring tonight and that took 45 minutes and was a lot more gruelling cos its so small and you got all the corners so quickly

Having only 12 laps on the full grand prix track where the only awkward places are the chicane and the corner entering the bridge and then theres the tight corner next.
i dont see that as a great challenge.
I would hjave personally gone for 25 laps as a minimum.....ill get back to you during the week after some practice runs with some details.

You are right, there is nothing in the rules about mandatory pit stops.

Can you tell me the race standings. The cars who finished, what order?

Who set it to 53 when I told him it was 50? I thought 25 laps would've been boring but we could change to 25 if you want. A lap is roughly 3 minutes but I'll have to check. I don't know when I'll be able to get on PSN again but I'm guessing wednesday.

P.S. What is the result?
 
Well im 99 percent sure that PETE-H-1976 was hosting and set it to 53,but double check with him first on that.

Secondly Ill need to look at the full video off the race and i can get back to you on the stats etc,certainly by Monday unless you check with PETE-H-1976

Thirdly just an update on the Suzuka laps and timing.

Just done a quick time trial on it and for 4 laps i was just a tad over 12 minutes,so if you base it as being just on or a fraction under(and bearing in mind with slip streaming and players boosting one another,it will be quicker)

At 12 laps thats 36 minutes...so 25 laps is just over an hour and would also i think need a pitstop.
On the mention of boosting.....that is to say where a players rams the rear of opponent in front to boost him and his opponent.
I think that should be illegal during these league races.Slip streaming is fine but without contact.
You wouldnt do that in real karts youd get disqualified and you certainly wouldnt do it in F1 with a multimillion dollar car.

So please ban ramming/boosting and make the race fair.

Ramming/Boosting is now banned. I don't get why he changed the lap number when he knew it was 50. He kicked me out so he could at least keep the same number of laps and rules etc.
 
Ok first of all Ive now watched all the video and I want to lodge a stewards enquiry....The first incident i spun out was my fault it isnt till lap 31 i think youll see that galahad takes me out lol and YES i did feel a nudge as he did the old police take down manouvre on me.

Nice race! I was leading by 3 secs and 2 laps to finish so i make a pitstop and i finished 5 place :( Anyone else make a pitstop?
 
this was so damn annoying last night.. first of all there were racers who didnt belong there at point's "GTP_fd;gd;f" or what ever is an usless driver who kept driving wrong way.. on tha race ppl were tryin to overtake at most amazin place's mid way of track please there is no need to push other racer far on right side just to go past him there is many other area's to pass.. i was pushed of so many time's it almost felt like tha same racer's i race wit last 2 race werent there..? couldnt take it anymore and left. am sorry dan ba i quit for now.. i really dont race on GT5 as offten as i used to ba if i race once a week big race like this event, i expect to have fun and good race.. it dont put smile to anyone's face to come and get pushed all the time.. there was this one guy i dnt rememba his name.. he was fair and 👍 if he see's this "good race mate :P" ba anway good luck yu lot spcl Dan and Lkirjan let me knw who wins
