I say we do away with the rule book in regards to ram boosting , I agree it's part of kart racing , if you carnt handle it then don't race , it does make if fun , and adds another dimension to the race , if you do spin out or balls up ,,,, well tough luck
So if were having a vote , I say 'anything goes '
 
Ok Pete here the obvious scenario for you.

Youve worked all race and your down to the last 3 laps your in a pack of 3 and you go off track and get dropped off the pace.
The two guys in front bump draft away from you and your isolated on your own with no hope in hell of catching them...you quite happy to languish in third knowing that on flat ground you may be the faster kart and you may also be the better driver in all 3 of you,but your doomed to third placce cos you will not catch them.

That could happen 10 laps out and youd know then that unless there was a disaster up front,you got no chance of catching them and that goes for all the stragglers in the race.Lets say even thats this scenario happened to you two races on the trot,youd be well p issed off I know that as much :grumpy:

If thats the scenario and your happy with that,then youve made the case even more for the fact that boost should be on to keep all those behind interested.

Personally my view is that its a cheat and there should be a patch to outlaw it that if you bump the kart in front more than 3 times in a minute you get a 10 second time penalty.
The skill is slip streaming to gain distance not bumping your m8 around the track.

No im not moaning,im pointing out the right way to drive the kart and the fairest way for all concerned.
You try bumping your m8 around the track in a proper kart centre,youd be out the door with no refund.
As far as I see it its a cheap way to gain advantage in a race and it sux and i think if you take 2 secs to think on that youd agree.

This is why the league should have had a list of basic rules...not a whole booklet of them,just two or three main ones that people are clear about.

On the subject of the boost feature,then if ram boosting is made legal as you want it to be then boost should be on during the races IMO.
Look at keeping people interested in the race if they know they got a chance of catching up with the pace or an opponent so they too can ram boost back into contention.

Youve seen that it does help the less skilled drivers to catch up and makes for blanket finishes in short races,but i dont think that it would make a major difference in long races.

I feel you got to even things up one way and another...ram boosting in so in game boost feature is in then........think on it for a while cos it works for all and makes it fairer to the back markers

First thing first.. as yu learned its not easy bum draftin or gettin bum drafted.. so this idea of yu'rs tha even low skilled driver could win is out of rubbish bin! it need's skill to stay on right line or to push just in right spot EVEN THRU TURNS!

Secondly: there will never be patch tha will stop anyone from bum draftin and i tell yu tha reason here: there is about 10cars in whole GT5 tha yu can bum draft wit.. most cars yu see there well yu too hard and even impossible to bum draft.. wit karst is easy cuz they dont go so fast and they verry verry stable thru turns and on straight even if yu push them... so call me crazy ba there is no way GT5 will put tha much effort to stop bum drafting? its a big job and they have better things to do.. i so forget tha dream my friend.

Thirdly: yu r moaning and big time.. yu kept moaning after tha race and are still doing it this is damn game dont take it too seriously there is only one rule in whole motorsport game's and tha is not to take other racer off tha track unless its accident? go anywhere yu want or to anyone yu want there is no such a rule tha say's NO BUM DRAFT..

Ok what you got then is an open invitation to shunt one another off track and give a simple apology at the end of the race,cos you know you done it and you got away with it,its as simple as that.
That is the way that its going to be and if thats the way its going to be then so be it.

Remember this also,there are those among us that will use that to their advantage and im pretty damn sure ill be one of them cos im not going to be bullied and rammed from behind to give way,unless im doing it to those around me.

PS as to who finished 5th and 6th.....I overtook two people on the last lap,im almost certain that both of them did not make it to the finish cos they both ran out of fuel,so they technically were classed as DNF.I already deleted my video so I cant double check for you,perhaps one of the other guys stil got it.

Sorry that it was a long time coming but after disagreements over the final result and my laziness it's finally here.

I know how neljack feels now, been disconnected twice in a row now but he's had it every race so far.


On a happier note well done PETE-H-1976 on his first win this season!

P.S. I am sending messages for a vote on bump drafting, please vote at least a couple of hours before the race please so a decision can be made.

How many laps of monaco are we doing? 15 or more? A lap is around 1 minute 50 seconds but I don't know how long the fuel lasts for at monaco.

5-3 to no bump drafting so far in the vote

Disconnected again but I doubt it matters so much as I was outside the points. I need that engine overhaul! :(

I really wish the game would disconnect me right away rather than tease me by letting me practice for 40-odd minutes first ¬_¬

Standings updated too. Top 3 seperated by 2 points with four races to go, can't wait even though i'm fairly sure that my disconnections have put me out of the running it will still be exciting.

Sure, you're in and i'll add you tommorrow. We are going to do another season starting in september but with some more longer races.

7th? Oh well. I only had 5 cars showing for most of that race so I had no idea where I was going to end up.

Ed - question, is there going to be a time change on the Nurburgring race? It's fun trying to drive that in the dark :D
