If your talking about emulators, theres no such thing. Well there is but not worthy of talking about at the moment.

but if you want to play your ps2 on your MONITOR, not PC. get a VGA box or something like that..

vga box has svideo input or something? what about a tv tuner card that has that option as well? and no, im not talking about an emulator, not worthy for that, graphics wouldnt be that great. but yea hhooking up ps2 to your computer monitor.

i love my leadtek tv tuner card, it has a remote, and even an FM tuner for when i feel like listening to non-stop commercials! The remote even has a handy little feature called, literally, the "boss" key. This is if you have your tv card installed at work, see the boss coming? press the boss key and it automatically hides the window! tho you'd still have to explain to the boss why you have a remote control sitting on your desk  But yeah, if you wanna play ps2 thru your computer get a tv tuner card

I want to use my PC Monitor as a screen for my PS2. I have a few questions for all the computer know-it-alls out there :P .
1)If I get a TV Tuner with S-video in, can I plug the PS2 into that and play it?
2)Will it better graphics becasue of the higher resolution of the monitor?
3)Will it be full screen?
4)Is it relitavly easy to switch between TV/PS2 and Windows?
Thanks alot!
I have a 64mb G-Force4 MX440 and a 6 mounth old monitor if that helps any. :)

I would like to know that aswell,i don't think it's possible but who knows,it might be.

If you have the regular RCA connections (red and white for stereo sound), you need a Y splitter. It has a red and white female connections going into a normal green computer speaker male (I'm not sure of the proper term). The male connection goes into your sound card's speaker input.

If you have an optical cable and an optical input on your sound card, just connect the two together.

For the sound you can just get and old stereo and whack the red and whiteplugs into the back and either use those speakers of just use head phones. Well thats what im planing to do. Can anyone answer my questions above?

supra_luva209:

1. Yes
2. No, the graphics are still being rendered on the PS2. The S-Video connection is only carries the video signal from the PS2 to the video card and the video card displays it on the monitor.
3. Yes
4. Yes, its similar to a regular window. You can expand it, move it around, or minimize it and still do other things in Windows.

um could u specify which model u have?

i have tv 2000 xp expert and i'm not satisfied with it at all:
+ no stereo - all tv, video and radio are grainy mono
+ remote doesn't work - simply installed it, put batteries in but nada
+ the damn thing crashes my rig like there's no tomorrow with original pvr software
+ can't record ps2 as it looks low-res and totall ass - same for snapshots
+ ps2 doesn't show over 30fps on monitor - so there's like a lot ghosting
+ the damn remote doesn't work
+ the damn remote doesn't work
+ crashin examples: when starting or ending video capture, when closing pvr

I have the same card, Kaniyo. I have no problems at all, except for the remote does not work. The remote needs a seperate IRQ, which is almost impossible with most systems, and mine since I have many devices. Have you tried reinstalling the card and drivers? Updating the drivers?

1. can u play PS2 on ur monitor just like on normal TV with good quality and without ghosting?
2. when u watch TV, do u hear stereo - as stated on box?
3. can u capture PS2 videos that look any good - without low-res and extra shimmering?
4. can u take snapshots of PS2 that are not low-res, that don't have ghost images of previous frame?

1. Yes, it is good quality. I have Y Cb/ Pb Cr/ Pr component inputs for my PS2 on my TV and normal RCA on my tuner card, so I can't compare the two.

2. Yes, I have stereo on channels that do carry a stereo signal.

3. Yes, just look at my GT4 Prius video. Note that it's compressed with DivX, so it's not the original quality (or do you want to download a 1GB avi? :) ). I do get good quality videos, as good quality the RCA cables can deliver. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=44213

4. Yes, look:

Sounds like you're having interference. What type of cables are you using?

oh how i find it hard to believe that i can make this tv card capture good vids, but if u can, please do post ur settings and also which codecs u have installed - i think installing AcE MeGaCoDeCs PaCk might be the source of crashes as that tv card worked good and captured without crashing my comp for the first 6 months... until i installed that codec pack - ofc i have now uninstalled and reinstalled both with or without each other but it still crashes my comp which really sucks :ill:
The vids i capture look low-res like 320x200 with jaggies and disturbing shimmering all over the place :guilty:

btw i found out how to get good snapshots - u got to capture it while everything stands still:

(i stopped and held brakes and then watched the replay and captured that screen)

now if i could only capture videoclips that look like that screen, i'd feel a lot better about purchasing that TV-card over those expensive Hauppage cards :(

Just curious, but how do you get the PS2's sound to play out of your comp's speakers?
I've done that except with my CD player so I can play music from my comp on my cd players speakers because they are better, I can also go the other way from CD to Comp. Though Viper Zero explained it just as I did it....Though mines more complex because I have surround sound...

I play on a widescreen TV, but wanna use my surround speakers from my PC.
I have and Creative Audigy2, with only digital out. and i can think of a few way's to hook my PS2 up with my PC

1, use digital in from CD connector on soundcard, therefor i'll need to build an optical--> electronic circuit. (TORX173)

or 2nd:
i'll use a cheap-ass Terratec PCI/FUN soundcard wich supports 5.1
my only question remains, when i read forum's (gathering of tweakers) i hear peoply complain about the optical-in 5.1 compatibility...

Any one of u got any suggestions?
