Ok.

So in the past few months since i bought my iPod, i have frequently been using it as an external hdd for my laptop, 18gig hdd in the laptop, 60gig ipod.

i just want to know if its a good idea to keep my ipod in pretty much constant use. the only time its not playing music or having me playing some CS, as my ipod is the home of my 15gig's of steam gcfs. (think every game you can possibly play on steam, with the exception of the beta's).

But i want to know if i should continue doing this, while ive only had my ipod since december, it is in constant use, i just want to know if this is a bad thing.

Not to mention i put ipodLinux on it a while back.

The only consequence that I can think of right now is overheating, but it may spin at a slow enough rate that this may not be a problem. My suggestion would be to search some Apple forums to see if anyone has had issues with this.

My iPod constantly F's up from playing it in the docking station so much. I don't know what's wrong with it.

You know...skipping during songs, being super laggy through the menus. Not interfacing with the docking station correctly. It still skips after resets too.

I would suggest going to the Apple website and finding the Support page. Maybe resetting the iPod will do the trick.
