Based on that logic, if the game is done, why will it take until at least Feb. or March for the rest of the world (US, Canada, UK, Austrailia, NZ, Etc, Etc.) to get the game? Let me guess, PD/Sony are going to use carrier pigeons to deliver the game to the rest of the world right? :crazy:

(Upon reading this if needed please forward to it’s correct destination please.)

Allow me to express my extreme dissatisfaction at the problems with GT4. I very upset that the 2 player/LAN garage cars being left out from GT4. In this one single move you’ve killed the wonderful long-term playability that the previous GT games had. Even worse, the replays that were the best, the multiplayer ones, are not saveable now.

There have also been numerous reports of bugs, unstable frame rates (which were not even evident in the playable demos released so far) and glitches.

I also do not understand why, the damage was not included, not visual, but at least simulated with an icon system. With different car sections and colours (similar to the tyre wear in previous GT games) an icon system could represent the level of damage. Would have been a fantastic idea bringing more scope and depth to the game. Instead of the penalty system which has not really done much in that aspect.

A lot of people also wanted more classics, “icon” cars. I wanted some older BMW cars for example, like BMW E30, E36, M3 etc. Of course this is not a big issue, just would be nice to listen to your customers by doing surveys and such and get an idea of the cars people wanted most in GT4.

The online may have not been achievable at this time but at least the infrastructure could have been implemented in GT4 and then in the future when you have the servers and such set up it could be used. Also online capability would have been extremely useful in patching existing GT4 problems etc.

Last but not least a major problem with GT games was the amount of memory cards one has own in order to hold all of his/hers favourite replays, car set ups, etc. I like many people was hoping for a small Hard Disk Drive incorporated in PSTwo. Not very big, so it does not hold an entire game and encourage piracy, but big enough to hold a lot of save information and things like pictures from GT4 Photo mode plus maybe patch information for problems with GT4. Again this has not happened. Not even the alternative of maybe having super high capacity memory cards. Again with the price of such media storage device dropping in price the way they are it would have really helped.

I understand and respect Sony, my TV, DVD, Portable Music Player and PS2 are possessions I am proud of. I always try to go for quality and like how Sony manages to always give me the features that I want, and others lack, in my equipment. But I feel that PSTwo could and should have been better and more importantly the biggest and best game on the PS platform, GT4, has some serious flaws.

Unfortunately since the PSTwo and GT4 have given me initial feeling of disappointment I am considering moving over to Microsoft platform. I never thought I’d say this but the way things are at the moment the XBOX Live options and the very impressive Forza Motorsport may convert me. Thing that is also worrying is that a lot of people share my views so I believe it’s about time Sony/ Polyphony Digital started listening to it’s fans more.

They never said they didn't like it. Just because YOU worship PD doesn't meant we have to. But lets be honest, they did some silly things. 49 lancers...
 
Guys, what's your problem of giving a company a personal review on their product? I think this is getting way too emotional!

I know Sony probably won't read most E-Mails they recieve regarding dissapointment with the lack of features in GT4. SO, if you want to get through to them, do it on a level that will get through to them. DON'T BUY THE GAME. I certainly know I won't be unless the North American version gets garage cars in LAN mode (AKA Online mode through XLink). I couldn't care less about some lame B-Spec mode, or if we get 10 extra tracks (the 'ring is in, and that's all I really care about track wise), me, and I can safely assume the majority of GT fans want good multiplay, and PD is severley failing to deliver in that category.

You're not getting it the right way. The most stupid thing is your post. Any company is interested in getting feedback about their product. 👎

Thao does not mean that Shen Yin does not like the game. I simply would be interesting to help PD improve GT.

I agree with the interceptor for one thing : I'll tell PD what I think about GT4 when I'll get the game or when I'll have played it for hours.

The point of telling PD waht we think is not saying their game is a ****, but how to improve it. 👍

exactly....the only thing is its gonna be a little late to change anything after you get the game...you will already have givven them you money and by doing that basicly said that you approve of what they created and sold to you.....the japan version is out now...we know that there are problems....so what if you are comfortable with some of the errors....this game was promised to be remarkable becuase of the realisim of the look and feel of the cars and tracks and the attention to detail.......this game should be corrected before the american release....when gt1 came out they had time to change the way the arcade mode worked....they also had time to add in extra cars....gt2 was delayed also because they were reworking the american version(it still had many errors)...if they are going to first promise us a december release in america and delay it till febuary they ought to at least fix any of the problems that they know are in the game...from what you all who own the game are saying the game has flaws...you have ony been playing it for a little over a week...they have playtesters right?....are they not doing their job?....or does ky think that everyone will buy his game no matter what is wrong with it.....i cannot undersatnd why they would ship the same unfinished game to everyone that they shipped to japan....hopefully SCEA will correct the game where it is needed before its released anywhere else..........

dont settle for a second rate product...this game can be the best...we really should all voice our opinion...i am a little sick of waiting all this time for a game to come out only to find that it is defective...if we are willing to wait this long for a game and pay $50 for it and then find out it is not what was promised.....then we will continue to get dumped on.....

if pd and sony really cares about the future of their franchise they will fix all the problems before it is released anywhere else.....i dont have a problem with not purchasing a second rate product.....and i also dont have a problem with release dates getting pushed back...as long as the company is honest that they are still working on improving the game....

i will be ending an email to sony today.....i hope that everyone else does the same......if you love the game the way it is tell them....if you dont like what is happening tell them....we are the people who made this entire series possible....we are also the the people that this game is suposed to be made for.......

e-mails WILL be ignored. You'll get an automated "Thank you for your interest in this product" response.

Phrases like "what the hell is the point" will get you ignored on the spot anyway.
 
Not to them, Gt4 could be an utter pile of crap, and they would pretend it's great just because it's GT.

In other news...

I seriously cannot believe people around here sometimes. You have a game which is, to all intents and purposes, 95% great. So you decide to write to Sony/PD/the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and gripe about the 5% you see as not-so-great.

So they made an error in the drivetrain type of one of the SEVEN HUNDRED cars in the game. So what? Have you actually driven the car in the game yet? It may be just a typo and the car actually behaves like an FR.

Do you know, someone right now on this forum is complaining that there are too many cars in the game? Honestly. Jesus Christ Almighty, play the ******* game, people. Some of you would complain if the Lightning wasn't in at all, and claim it's anti-American bias, some of you would complain if it was in because it's a truck, not a GT car. Some people are complaining because, although the '99 model of their car is in the game, the exact trim level on their own real life car isn't available. Sweet Enola Gay, some people around here can be total retards sometimes.


I have a constructive letter I have written to SCEE - who will be in charge of localisation in Europe. It's a formal letter, typed, printed, sealed in an envelope and delivered to the head of HR by a nice man in a red van. Who probably owns a black and white cat.

Is gt4 really this flawed it cant be worse than gt3 surely, cobra uk were are you getting this info about glicthes and poor framerate? all this stuff really pisses me off because of the damned wait for the release over here, i want too judge the game for myself but due too stupid lengthy release dates i gotta read all this negative stuff argh!!!!

Last time I checked, a company only makes money by selling a game, not developing it! Therefore, from a game developers Point Of View you want to do the most you can to satisfy those who have put their hard earned money into your pocket & purchased your product vs. giving those same people only what you want to give them!

Therefore, since there appears to be a great number of people on this one forum alone who have certain concerns over what isn't in GT4, but was incorporated into previous verions and are now left out for one reason or another & not because of the limitations of the PS2, contructive criticism would actually favor PD in the long run if they actually listen to that criticism because even MORE people will purchase their next product!

GT3 was carp IMO , just let you know that beacuse I'm not pretending it's good just beacuse it's GT.
And this huge dissapointment about the 2p battle. GT4 isn't done for 2p battle.
Maybe you miss it but it supposed to be a "driving simulator" not a 2p battle game. I miss it too but GT4 has so much more to effort. Get it! And the online thing, it's almost the same thing. It wasn't supposed to be in either from the beggining.

GT4 is coming out. There's hope for you. It's better than GT3. There's some more hope. It's got more cars than GT2. There's a bit more hope. As of yet it is the least bugged full GT game to date. Hope-a-doodle-doo.

Sorry mate, I feel just like you do. I have a friend who ordered an import GT4 online. I've been around his house a couple of times. What I'm saying is from personal experience, reports, reviews, previews, articles and forums.

Ok drop that driving simulator crap for a second. It's a game. Regardless of what you think, features like 2p battle are VERY important for most players.

You'd be wrong thinking that... In every comunity, its the same thing that comes in and out. everyone thinks that "no one" is watching or listening. I'm pretty sure that there's a good portion of Poly's crew who understand english that have spent some time here.

Why? 'cause we do it at work all the time. And a lot of other companies do it as well. Lots of employes want and need to know what goes on in the fankid's twisted brains.
