controller set ups

I used to configure my controller with the right analog joystick for throttle and brake, but it doesn't make a difference. Now I prefer to use the default configuration and to "tap" the throttle button . Like someone once said on this forum: "Poor man traction control" lol

I use the default control, and I think it would be very hard to change to a system where you use the analog stick to control braking and acceleration.

I use left analog for steering and right analog for throttle/brake. I find it much easier to feather the throttle or brake slightly using the stick instead of the buttons. For transmission I use the default L2/R2 down/upshift combo.

Der Alta uses (I think) R1/R2 for down/upshift in combination with the analog sticks.

I'm with you on that (: Though I've gotten good at throttle control with the pressure sensitive buttons. I can actually put out about the right amount of throttle most of the time. Breaking is another story. I usually just hammer down and let the car squeel its way into the corners.

Same here. Switched to analogs once I started playing GTA3. That test where you have to go in a circle in the water with no traction control on taught me really fast how to use the analog. What a world of difference. 👍

Default here as well.

I tried using the right analog stick, but found I couldn't do left foot braking at all.... so I've just gotten good at feathering the buttons and setting the TCS to work with my driving...

Someone invite Sukerkin to this thread.

His controller set-up is nothing short of freaky - and now he's using manual gears it's got even freakier, if that's possible.

Default, with a few modifications. I swapped the rear view and change view buttons with the shift buttons. ^_^

hmmm...lets see...left analog is steering...x is gas...☼ is brake...circle is reverse...triangle is view change...R1 is handbrake...default everything else...l1 look back...l2 and r2 shifting...but i use an auto

I found that it was really hard to accelerate full throttle with the X button, I guess my controller's sort of worn out, I had to really hammer on it. I just switched R1 and X, and I like it that way now. Tap tap tap = traction controll.
Shift up and down are L1 and L2 respectively, everything else is just juggled around to accomodate that.

Has anyone ever driven one handed? IE; brake/accelerate and steering on one stick and the other controlls on the shoulder buttons and face buttons/d pad (depending on which hand).
