this is ok for me as my dad plays more computer games than me. i dont even own a playstation 2 he duz and i use that :)

idk...for some reason its really hard for me to imagine grown men fiddling around with game systems...on the other hand, i'm pretty sure i'll be one of those men in about 10-20 years! My dad wants to shoot me every time i open my mouth to talk about cars! I wish i had a dad more like some of you guys (speaking to the dads on this thread)...would have made my last 2 years of highschool way cooler! :banghead:

:lol:But then it'll look like your really, really obsessed with the game. Not that any of us arnt... :dopey:

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

Yea! I want to show my dad how obsessed I am with the game! :O If I can get my mom to play, then there is a HIGH chance my dad will play too! My mom and dad have a REALLY good relationship so that is why it could work. I just recently talked with my mom if she would play GT4 a bit with me and my brother when it get released and she said okay! 👍 Now I await the chance my dad cant TAKE IT ANYMORE! HE MUST PLAY!

O O O ANOTHER TIP! Get like a party going in the house when it release. Invite many friends and try to do funny and exciting things on the screen to LURE your dad into playing. When he sees all the drifting and excitement, he will at least play to find out how fun it is. 👍

good call...i'm jealous of your rents...i wish my rents had a better relationship...as for the party idea...that is tight! my dad was watching me drift and was completely intrigued by it though he hates it when i talk about it. i dont understand...he likes motorsports...especially Formula 1 and yet he refuses to do anything car related...real bummer :grumpy:

Ever since GT1, have my dad and I played GT together. He might not be very good at it, but I usually take a car slower than his. It's huge fun, as long as I let him win every now and then. :)

angel......you'd rather play gt3 than go for joyrides in your camaro?

i'll gladly take it if you arent using it :D

Joy rides in real cars costs alot on fuel, one week of joy riding my Skyline and I could have bought GT4 5 times.

yes of course....but her dad is the one who recommended her doing so.

you cant beat joyriding at someone else's expense.

lol good call, Omnis :) most of my joy rides were spent wondering how to get money from my parents to pay for the gas...usually worked out tho hehehe

NO! You can't have my LT1 until I get my REAL joyride in the near future! A Twin Turbo Toyota Supra! :O 👍

Back on topic!:O Everyone should keep on trying to get their dad to play if you want. I really support gaming as an excellent way to build family relationship, even if the child only likes to play video games! Parents should take the time to understand why their child like to play video games and should learn how to play with their child that way. 👍

Not in my family :( but a novel way of bonding. i definatly will be playing video games with my kids...omg the thought of me having kids..... :scared:  ok enough of that thought....but nonetheless, i will keep this post in mind in the future!

The easiest way I got my mom, dad, brother, sister, friends, and girlfriend hooked on GT3 was to pick find their favorite car in real life then try to find something similar in the game. This way it lets them feel like they are driving their "dream car." Then I set their car up nicely for them so they can handle it. Next start them out in the beginners and tell them there is a surprise after they will a few races. As we know the surprise is they win another car. Once they win their first car then they usually are hooked.
You could use this same method for GT4. Luckily I have GT4 prologue so they already have a little taste of GT4.
The license tests help hook people realy easy. 👍
