Thinking things through could do a great deal of help for you.

Polyphony doesn't put cars on their website to DL for a few key reasons.

1) To my knowledge, without third party software, there is no way to get files from PC to PS2, and I doubt they will use third party software for this or develop a new one to use.

2) Polyphony doesn't distribute files directly to the PS2 because there are no GT4 online capabilities, and I am sure that there will never be any because they are too busy that they are working on GT5.

3) Even if they did think about releasing "updates to GT4," it would be too large a risk to warrant the development time, payment of employees, marketing, etc.

Deal with the game as it is, there is no use whining about its shortcomings, as they will probably not be fixed.

um... duh... ever play a game called mgs3? the ps2 can go online... why do you need a computer to download anything for the ps2?

The c6 not being in the game is a small dissapointment but I dont care. its a nice looking car but it wouldnt have made the game any better. It would probably have been like the mazda rx-8 in gt3.

I'll second that opinion and state that one car does not make or break the entire game.

I hate that my gf isn't Jennifer Aniston.... but I don't see how complaining about in this fashion it is gonna fix anything....

how about having some knowledge of other games for you? maybe playing snake eater like the other member said?

mgs proves how easy it is to incorporate a small utliity to go online, check for a file, dl that file and use it in the game.

i may be a noob on this site, but i know assholes when i see them. if you dont like this thread stay the heck out. there are mods to make decisions about threads, not ppl whining about the search button.

I would only expect that for a US person. Not all cars can be in game, the C6 was not out on sale. When GT4 was being made, you don't see me getting annoyed. That the Sagaris is not in game.

if i remember correctly the scooby wrx was in the game before it was out and was quite a hit, so maybe know what you are talking about or stay out of this topic?

Oooookay. This is getting confusing now. So let me drag us back to reality.

1. The Corvette C6 wasn't delivered until after the PD team did their US car testing/recording date. To expect them to reassemble the entire team and fly them back out to the US - or get a C6 shipped over to them - purely to test and record ONE car is really rather farcical. Especially since [Conspiracy Theory] it's not a Japanese car, so they'd have made it crap. [/Conspiracy Theory] They'd have then had to code the car into the game - manufacturer championships and so on - with little more than a couple of weeks to the Japanese launch date (by which time the game would have been finished and being duplicated).

What luftrofl said is perfectly sound.

Why waste employee salaries on making add-ons for what is effectively a lame-duck console, when they can be used in making the NEW game for the NEW console? PD aren't a charity, set up to please you. They are a business, set up to make money. If they can make more money out of making GT5 than they can by making GT4 online then they will do just that. Plus if they DON'T make a GT4 upgrade then it's one more selling point which encourages you to buy GT5 when it comes out. Cynical perhaps, but sound business strategy.

3. Car downloading. Yes, it'd be nice. But GT4 has no ability to be upgraded in this fashion, and each car takes around 2 man-weeks to record and model. And again, you'd need the whole recording crew and the car in the same place at the same time. This costs an awful lot of money - and exactly what would PD get in return, unless they charged per download? Even then, how would you integrate the car in the game, unless there was a GT4Online which, as we have pointed out, is not financially smart?


So, can we stop insulting other members now please?
