I played the demo, and I absolutely loved it! It really went above and beyond what I had expected, and really did impress. Chances are (now) that I will probably buy the game, although, you can never be too sure...

Yep, it's on my purchase list as opposed to my rental list. Just shows that demos do sell games as previous to playing the demo I was'nt interested in it.

Am I the only one who has no idea whatsoever about game called crackdown... but still repeatly check this topic for some news about Halo 3?

Only 7 more days and we have Crackdown. Since it is a Microsoft title it will officially be available in stores on Tuesday the 20th. :dopey:
All pics have been moved to the first post.

i sincerely hope that the leveling up wont be too slow... i hope everyone realize that its not gonna be as fast as in the demo....

Only a week untill the Australian release (lucky Americans and your 20th Feb launch)

So does anyone know how soon after Crackdown is released the Halo 3 beta will be available for download? Will it be straight away or in a few months as the Halo 3 release gets closer? (But I guess they have the beta testing to iron out any problems before it comes out). Couldn't find anything specific on the net.

My copy of Crackdown was dispatched yesterday, so I should get the Pal version on Monday.

It comes out on the 23rd here, so 4 more days to go. :indiff:

I've actually started to like the demo. I should be able to get it once my brother saves up enough money...

I was trying to remember the link to that website. Thanks. 👍

Yeah, the achievements seem interesting and easy to get as well.

It's not too easy, but some of the achievements take time to get, like the high flyer one, however if someone finds a good way to do body juggler and car juggler please let me know.

We started on the medium difficulty which I think is called ruthless. The full version of this game is incredible. I picked the character that has blue paint on his face. The more he levels up the more paint that covers his face. I simply cant believe how much this game can handle without any loading times on any island. It seems impossible when you think about how big this game is and all of the destructible items. Then each item you pick up that breaks, turns into many other items and they can all be picked up.
Heather and I put around 8 hours into Crackdown yesterday. Some of the respawing enemies can get very frustrating at times but that is also nice for leveling up your skills. We beat all the boss enemies on Los Muertos and we only have 2 left on Volk. I would say the leveling up takes at least 10x the amount of time especially once you hit 3 stars. Takes forever but thats a good thing. I had a hard time falling asleep last night. I just couldn't get enough of this game. 👍
We did notice that if you are not the host you wont get the story mode achievements.

Ok I have great news. Heather just hosted her own game and she has all her powers and all the orbs from when I hosted. All she has to do is beat the boss enemies again then she can get the achievements. So thats great news!!! [:)]

I bought it yesterday, getting the last copy available at the local Target (honest to God, the first time I've ever bought a game at any Target store), and laughing all the way home whilst being given a lecture by two of my girlfriends about how I spend too much money on videogames...

...Anyhow, brought it home, played for a few hours, and I have to say that I'm impressed. There was a time in which I was very skeptical of the game, and to that I apologize to everyone who worked on the game, absolutely awesome work. I flew through the first few bosses/generals of Los Muertos, and finially polished them off this morning between my brother and I.

We're starting to fight the Volk folks, and I think we knocked three off the table, but I'm not sure about one of them, as I was in a Co-op game and while I was killing one, my friend was killing another.

...On the subject of co-op, I'm not completely impressed, but that may be because I was playing with someone I didn't know too well. I'll have to give my friend Karl a ring, as he should be fun to play with, but this guy was kinda boring... Another one of those guys who are in it just for the achievements.

But either way, I love it. Is it perfect? Certainly not, but definately a good buy for anyone with a 360. I'd probably give it an 8.7 overall, mostly due to the occasional wonkyness of the camera and the suck-tastic music available in the game (yes, iPod connection can happen, and will from now on). The difficulty seems to be on a somewhat strange scale as well, and I certainly need to level up a bit more before taking on more of the Volk folks.

But still, a very good game...

...Just wish they had like, 8-person co-op. CRAZY!

YSSMAN,
I am glad to hear you are enjoying the game. When you think of the size of the game, realize there is no loading times anywhere on the entire game, then realize its full co-op, its actually very amazing. Even more amazing is the fact that you can pick up items and throw them off a building watching them explode into a bunch of pieces. Then jump down and pick up every single little piece and use it as a weapon.
What difficulty are you playing at? I suggest to play at least on the ruthless level to appreciate the game. Otherwise its too easy. We finished of the Volk island last night on ruthless and then 1 boss on the next island. The final island is just a giant brutal battlfeild. We still need to level up our guys more before we go any further into the last group of guys because they are no joke. We are just taking our time with this game and enjoying every minute of it. The co-op is soo much fun with friends. :)

This game seems sweet and I loved the demo, but I think I can wait a few months for it to go down in price. BTW, how many weapons is there and how is it in size compared to san andreas.

I dont remember how many guns there are but I know there are several rocket launchers and grenade launchers, snipers, AK-47 look alikes, and other guns. One of the rocket launchers is heat seeking and its insane!! I just got it last night and couldnt believe it. There are also different grenades and even remote activated grenades.
As for size its not as big as San Andreas but bigger than Saints Row. However keep in mind that you can climb every single building in the game and there is also no loading time anywhere once the game starts. Even as a co-op there is no loading time anywhere. Bottom line is if you loved the demo the full version is much much better than that. 👍

How can you have two girlfriends, wait your cheating on both of them lol. But if they say about Video Games again, tell them about how much they spend on shoes, anyway good work on getting the last copy.

I just got the car juggler and quite a few other achievements last night too. :dopey:
Can you show me a way to get that achievement sometime please.

Just got the car jugglar! Woot! Use the heatseeker 5 shot rocket and a small car to get it TVR.
I tried that, but it is not working for me.

The best moment for me in Single Player was beating all of the gangs and the single player by Tuesday GMT time, before it came out in the US stores.

So is it really worth the $60? I liked the demo a lot, but am i going to beat this game in a week? Keep in mind that I'm just a casual gamer.

Yes its definetly worth $60.00.
The people that are beating the game quick are usually playing on the easiest setting and only beating the bosses. If all you want to do is just beat the bosses then you can do that within 6-8 hours on the easiest setting. Thats without exploring the city or collecting all 800 orbs. If you want to enjoy the game you will have quite a few hours getting the achievements and leveling your guys stats to 4 stars. Plus like I said there are 800 hundreds orbs to collect. Its also full co-op so if you have a great imagination you can stay busy forever. Also after you beat all of the bosses you can turn on the crime and all of the enemies in the game will be back again. Its a sandbox style game like GTA, Saints Row, and Just cause. There is always plenty to do in these games after you beat the main story mode. We are playing on the middle difficulty setting (ruthless) and its challenging after the first island.
Just like Saints Row. The story mode was only around 6 hours..However it took over 100 hours to beat everything in the campaign and all the side missions in the city.
TVR,
To get the car juggler just throw a car in the air and use the heat seeking rocket launcher to shoot it.
